What a great start to the day in Murrells Inlet South Carolina. It is high tide and today I am going to fishing the grass lines and creek mouths to pick up whatever is biting.
I started out with a Super Spook top water and threw that for about 15 minutes with no Bites. I switched it up to a Bass Assassin on a ¼ oz Trout eye smeared with ProCure. It didn’t take long for the first bite of the day. Popping along the bottom and Bang Flounder #1.
After about 45 minutes, I changed it up again. On the menu was a ZMan 4” smoke shad. And it didn’t take long….Flounder #2.
AS I drifted along the grass lined oyster bars, a small 6” Redfish decided to play. If you listen closely you can hear him drumming. I continued to drift and came up on a creek mouth. There was a deep hole and I casted and picked up Flounder #3. This is when I knew this day was going to be special. I few minutes later, one of the Murrells Inlet residents came swimming by. A 4 ft shark swam by with not a care in the world.
I moved up into the creek not knowing, this would be the Hot Spot I was searching to find. I made a long cast and WAM another quality Flounder on the ZMAn Smoke Shad. I decided to make a change and start fishing a VooDoo Shrimp. A few cast later and the drag was screaming with the biggest Flounder of the day. Change is good. Several Smaller Fish later and I decided to end my day.
I have never experienced a day like today. The fish were fired up and eating everything I threw at them. If you planning a trip down to Myrtle Beach, please consider taking a day and come fishing in the Inlet.
