I took some time to change the strings to a fresh set and adjust the sansamp a lot to get a tone as close to Jimmy Bain's as I could

Requested by a patron, and it's from my favorite Dio Album :)
Bassist: Jimmy Bain
Year: 1983
Album: Holy Diver
Style: Pick - alternate picking
Genre: Heavy Metal (Dio songs are often played on classic rock stations)
Lots of fun to play. Bass is real easy to hear throughout, the only question is the positioning. Looking at the live videos I found, Jimmy plays it differently than how I would play the part myself, but I didn't write it, now did I? xD
I'm taking the liberty to adjust some of the positionings to what feels more natural and fits better for the fretting hand and the tone (in my opinion). The notes are going to be the same, and as accurate as I can get them. If you look at the live performances of Jimmy, there's not too much attention to detail in his playing, but more focus on the overall feel (which isn't a bad thing).
• Dio -Stand Up And Shou...
Playing it live in Eb, but the studio version is definitely E
2:18 - back of hand, doesn't really tell anything :(
3:11 - hand position and shift kind of indicates that it's 5 on the E, not open A, but That does't seem the best. Maybe since the song was in Eb this performance, that's a 4 on the E if in standard tuning

8:35 - clarly with a pick on the 5th fret
8:49 - same,
9:01 - fretted, not open

Jimmy Bain does not look good here. He looks like he's on his last legs, but there is fire in his eyes
0:47 - good shot of him, doesn't do most of extra stuff, just the main root note
0:54 - shows chorus is fretted on A (like 7th fret), not on D
• Dio -Stand Up And Shou...
0:25 - fretted
0:41- confirms chorus positioning
2:45
• Video
Not the best shot, but you can see jimmy bain on the right all throughout the song.
shows in chorus - moving up the A, and going back to 5 on the E.
1:40 - solo, shows 5 and 7
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
