@Scrat the squirrel 🤣🤣🤣 Thankfully, their Professor keeps a tight rein on his class,so no Vulcan fighting weapons permitted. Besides, a beheading would be bad for publicity, not to mention getting the mats clean again 😁

My mom would sing the tune like Jim Carrey in the Cable Guy whenever my brother and I would wrestle on the floor as kids. Good times.

Fyi the name of that piece is "Ancient Battle", originally composed for the episode "Amok Time", by Gerald Fried. In that episode, it was also accompanied by the music pieces: "The Ritual" and "2nd Kroykah".

This is my wife's working earworm. I kept hearing her absentmindedly whistling that third stanza (?) and it took me a while to figure out what it was (she didn't even know!) Thanks for an HOUR of clarification! 😊

I always liked and have heard it many times. I hadn't picked up on Jaws connection in beginning part. It's probably a fairly common music movement for tension situations. Time to go swimming down the Cape

Listen to the music of the ST episode "The Doomsday Machine." The 2-note Jaws motif sounds suspiciously like the 2-note motif of the planet destroyer.

This is great, thank you. I actually think about this a lot and I guess, while I'm not alone, there don't seem to be a lot of us who think about this. So, WELL MET. We were thinking today that Bolero (which has been stuck in my head for a week) might be related to some of this stuff. Think about THAT for a while...
