As I recall, the Romulan BoP in TOS wasn't warp capable, having only impulse engines. I seem to recall Mr. Scott making that comment.

I don't know if that could be taken literally, unless it had some alternate form of FTL besides Warp. It would take years to get anywhere meaningful.

@@user-ow1jb7wg8u I think I recall reading something about a mothership that the BoP may have been a part of. Was that mentioned in the episode? It's been so long, I can't remember.

@@user-ow1jb7wg8uright, the implication was that they were stuck at impulse while cloaked. They had to drop the cloak for warp capabilities.

My friend David and I used to sit in his room in his dad's apartment looking at these for hours. And when we went into the elevator, we'd hit the button and say, "bridge". So I guess we were pretty die hard Trekkies.

McMaster has detailed blueprints and deck plans of most of these ships. Many of them are scanned and freely available on Cygnus X-1.

I agree the K7 has to have some type of weapons phasers, torpedoes, missile something 🤷♂️ so if it gets attacked they have to call the nearest federation starship which is only the Enterprise 😆

With a few details, McMaster got most of the details and proportions on the TOS Enterprise correct, unlike Franz Joseph.

Hand drawn, probably. They may have had CAD back then, but it's doubtful anyone used an Auto-trol station for Star Trek.

Given the size and speed of their ships I've wondered why the first Federation has never shown up again in any of the series following TOS, not even a mention of them.

@@Idazmi7 There was.... - No mention of them in Planets of Titans or other early movie scripts - No mention of them in The Animated Series. - No mention of them in any of the Phase II scripts. - No mention in any of the TOS movies. - No mention of them in TNG's first two seasons. What do they all have in common? Roddenberry was still alive and could've pushed to have them mentioned, to varying degrees of influence.

I like using "atomic" as opposed to "nuclear" often, but its very strange that despite explicitly statement that in the doomsday machine that the Impulse engines are effectively fusion rockets they chose what I'd associate more with being some kind of fission engine be it a nuclear thermal rocket or something a bit more spicy and efficient. What's more it's not like the chart doesn't acknowledge nuclear fusion as demonstrated by K5. I also don't get why they'd put pathetic ion drives on the klingon/romulan D7s either. Yeah yeah the TOS shuttle did but those ships are starships, they're gonna want fusion engines for sublight propulsion.
