This is my 3rd attempt at AA. 4 days dry and i have been searching for help on this. This explains everything that is wrong with me and yesterday i found a sponsor and when we go through my step 1, i finally have what its all about and i truthfully cant wait for my true journey to begin. Good luck to everyone that has this disease. But the beauty of it is, we have the knowledge to defeat it and my main goal in life is to finally be free. Time to go over my step 1 again and on to step 2. Bless you all.

Delay can be fatal, tells us that in the big book, pg 66, took me six weeks to complete the steps, and have Spiritual shift, Frothy emotional response seldom Suffice, from Doctors opinion, My advice for any one is not to listen to Psychobabble slogans like "keep coming back" .. "Just get to bed without a drink" "gratitude lists" "praying for people you resent" none of this is proposed in the big book 12 steps, it's from rehab centres £ note, what it does say is "these are the steps we took", "Stop playing God", And then you become RECOVERED and will help the next 100, Recovered mentioned at least 25 times in the Big Book,

Thank God for Joe and Cliff Bishop, and all the rest of the old timers for making a way for me and the rest of us still suffering or trying to change our lives. This is my second time but I know it works if you work it and when you Stop working 10-12 you come back like me or worse you possibly die. I got my first chance in Dallas Texas at Primary Purpose, now I am in Little Rock where Joe came from the Wolfe Street Center!!! I am very grateful to be here!!

Joe and Charlie were such a dynamic duo for Alcoholics Anonymous. Absolutely amazing with how they explained the Big Book and the Program of the 12 Steps as masterful storytellers. I love the phrase "It took Bill and Bob to write the Big Book, but it took Joe and Charlie to explain it". While that is a nice saying, I believe the First 100, Bill, Bob, and the many non Alcoholics that influenced Bill explained the Big Book beautifully. Joe and Charlie had their own interpretation as that's the freedom of the entire thing. Just as Bill's wife, Louis, had her own interpretation of the Steps in AL Anon

stan rabbo telling an alcoholic “just don’t drink” is an oxymoron. According to our literature, No real alcoholic has the ability to “just not drink”. If I could “just not drink” I would have Power over alcohol therefore not powerless and wouldn’t need a higher power

petro088 I’ve been in recovery for a few 24’s. Bottom line; every morning I make a decision not to get drunk or high and make a meeting. That’s how this addict remains sober. By the grace of God and the fellowship of AA I didn’t pick up today.
