At first I thought she was a bad writer. But now I've changed my mind about her. Ok, her style is not extraordinary and there a lot of bad things in her books, but as a person she seems nice. You can see that she's astonished of what happened and didn't expect it. She seems sincere, she just wanted to write a story. I'm glad it works for her :)

you do realize that people everywhere are dissing twilight. lol in about 10 years time you will feel stupid for liking such a thing. The reason that it's a best seller is because the readers are mostly teenage girls who wants some sort of romance and a hot rich perfect guy in their life that will "protect" them from "danger" blah blah blah. Since it's written from a girl's point of view it's easier to relate. Also since Bella is "plain" and not a hot blond cheerleader they can relate to her.

It irritates me. What if you would have literally been BEST friends with that person if you met in real life organically; but you're perceiving them as "that dumb annoying idiot" because you are judging them off one opinionated comment that looks different from your perspective or feelings. I feel like to some extent, getting along with people requires us to be a bit flexible and listen and be supportive. Nobody likes to feel oppressed or disrespected so we could listen to each other and respect each other. Sometimes my opinions are very critically thought out and come from a long array of life experience and things that I've learned and know, and someone who disagrees with that opinion will perceive me as stupid (while I perceive them as stupid), and we both think the other person doesn't have awareness or understanding or a brain but that isn't true, we have two separate brains with slight biological differences that have had a different set of experiences and mind sets and perceptions.... But we are both human beings and a sign that you care about someone is if it isn't all about you to you, it's also about THEM. Like "I will listen to you and respect you and care about what you think and how you feel even if it's different to what I think or how I feel, because I care about you not just me." Even if we just slightly changed our mind set to seeing people as our friend and approaching them that way when we are at disagreement. Like ask the question "how would I respond to this person that I disagree with if it were someone I love?" I try to make people on my team instead of win the war against them. Sometimes I even do that sneakily. Like I'll say "how should we solve this?" Cause that WE psychologically makes them feel like they're my team not my enemy and promotes cooperation and compromise as opposed to a fight. I'd rather people work with me and for me than against me. You can't get the narcissists on your side though so I just avoid them since it's all toxic nature with them. But even if 1 out of 10 people are narcissists, that means 9 out of 10 are NOT narcissists. So most people you should be able to make into your friend if you are thoughtful.

I think she's a great writer. I don't really think there are "leagues" of writers. Everyone is different, and everyone enjoys different types of books and writing styles. I mean, Jane Austen is supposedly a classic, but many people hate her writing. It's so subjective, you can't just say "She's a horrible writer!" I loved the Twilight series and The Host. Why do people pretend that Potter is only considered better than Twilight because the movies came out before? Erm, lemme see, the Hunger Games? The movie was released in 2012, the books in 2008, whereas Twilight became a book in 2005 and a movie in 2008. So it came after Twilight yes? So please explain why the Hunger Games (3 books) has over 36million copies in print and Twilight (4books) has a meagre 30million? Its got nothing to do with timing, its about quality of which Twilight has little.

Yes I have. I just think her style is extremely juvenile. She writes like a 12 year old. I like some of the plot elements, just not her style. I think she can come up with a good storyline, but needs to work on the writing itself. I think she actually could potentially be good, but nobody's first few efforts at novel writing are publishable, and hers were no exception. The books aren't good, but the movies were actually not half bad.

there's not a lot that goes on. they are full of things that young women(and ones that are romance-obsessed) teenage girls (who are being targeted at from all retailers) like and don't usually get in real life eg. getting your life saved by a hottie. it's just a bit too OTT and it's kinda gooey.
