The V-Roys - still a GREAT hidden gem of a band. They kinda flashed brightly and then bowed out. Two outstanding albums ... really would have liked to have seen what a third studio album would have sounded like.

I think this is the first song of his I heard after he got out of prison. "I've been to hell and now I'm back again." Hell ya!

Honestly I record most of it myself from the TV. I'm just sad enough to sit in front of my TV until Steve Earle appears! I have loads more...

Great shit! I haven't kept up with all of Steve's material for years now, so this is a treat. Is a version of this song with the V-Roys available on CD? Thanks for posting this video!!

The guy on his right, our left, is Scott Miller. He`s on his on now, and one of the best song writers around. Check him out! He`s good!

Loved the song on The Wire, can someone rip that as it was a better production version than this. Great song and worked so well with The wire show.

I love the album version but prefer this live version. Also check out Steve's version of Colorado Girl on Letterman, June 2009 I think. It's faster than the Townes album version, probably to fit in with the TV timing and in my opinion is better. Last year in Cardiff, Steve said he is touring the UK with Alison & The Dukes sometime later this year. Check out the Unofficial Steve Earle fan site for dates.

Steve himself admitted it sounded exactly like Gloira and his response was "why not? Its a great riff!"

Yeah I always thought that too. Irronically Miranda Lambert admitted her "Kerosene"sounded a lot like this ,and gave Steve half the writing credits.

Think "Kerosene" by Miranda Lambert borrowed Steve's music from this song.
