Because of the Imus show I become a big fan of Mike Francesa, Chris Russo, Steve Somers and all the other Wfan radio personalities. So many great memories and laughters listening to Imus show. RIP Don

Echoing the others, I listened to Imus when I was a kid back in the 70's. I remember keeping the volume low on my transistor radio so my mom wouldn't hear and make me turn off "that filth", lol. If she only knew that I don't care if it rains or freezes long as I got my plastic Jesus riding on the dashboard of my car! I can go 100 miles an hour long as I got the almighty power stuck up there with my pair of fuzzy dice! Loved that man, rest in peace dear soundtrack of my mornings. You were always the best part of waking up.

"This concludes the entertainment portion of our broadcast schedule. Following are 19 and one half hours of imbecilic prattle from contemptibly limited program hosts talking on the telephone to a band of 13 equally insignificant house-bound stroke victims with sports obsessions. The revenue generating portion of our broadcast day will resume at 5:30, tomorrow morning." It's seared in my memory. (And "stroke victims" was eventually changed to "agoraphobes".)

@@Tuning_Spork Oh my God thank you for filling in the blanks. I had about 40% of it and didn't have the courage to go all the way and make more mistakes than I actually already did in 1 sentence, lol. I just can't believe how long that I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Imus as my morning companion. From when I was 7 until I was 42, that's just ridiculous. Never to be repeated, I feel bad for my kids, and theirs.

WFAN isn't the same without Steve Somers. No matter what Steve says or defends WFAN, he was pushed out. He should still be behind the microphone under the covers in 2023. I'm surprised Steve hasn't resurfaced somewhere or started a podcast like Francesa has on You Tube. Richard Neer is the last "Old School" guy left from the early WFAN years. I'm almost surprised WFAN hasn't already axed him. Not that there should be areason to do so. I love listening to him every Saturday morning with my coffee.

We are gonna miss him sorely!! Still mourning his passing, however, you guys need to check out his possible replacement. His name is Kurt Kelly - voice over master. I used him for a few projects and can give him much credits for being very professional. Currently he is not in contract and despises contracts, however, you (WFAN or company) can make him a deal he can't refuse. He is currently homeless and down on the boardwalk near Venice beach. Does KZitem videos from his tent and is into CIA conspiracies.

Imus would always refer to Francesa & Russo as "Fatso & Fruit Loops." Fatso to mimic Francesa's weight and Fruit Loops meant to be a slur on Russo's manhood. Not very endearing from my perspective.

If it wasn't for Imus, I don't think Mike & Dog would've made it! Both of them were an odd pairing, at first, but when FAN tool off, they put the pair of Mike & Chris together, not sure if it was gonna work, but Imus gave them a push, & told the FAN management, it will work!
