As a ISU fan , I saw Brock play all 4 years , so he has ton of game experience, his offense line was average at best , so he had to scramble a lot , sometimes for his life , but his accuracy was great , he completed 70 % of his passes, we with a average line. He played against good competition, likes of Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Clemson , led his team 12 championship game, so it's doesn't surprise me his success in NFL, plus he is surrounded with good players, with the 49 s , his offensive line is really good, better than he had at Iowa State, and Brock has time to throw the ball, Brock has always talent to see the field ,eye vision , to make plays.

Being an effective QB is not about how big, strong and fast you are. Its really from the neck up. Can you read the field, make the right decision and deliver the ball at NFL speed? Purdy is quick enough mentally and physically to execute the offense well. He consistently finds a way to extend a play when possible or get out of a bad play when necessary. Because he doesnt make alot of mistakes, the Niners are hardly ever behind on down and distance. His consistency keeps the offense rolling and the defense resting. #HowNinersWinGames

Zach Wilson is the worst coached athlete in football right now; people give him so much shit but LOOK at him. His pocket presence could only be described as "poorly coached." He doesn't go through his progressions; he's not good with getting rid of the ball. But the kid can throw 70 yards. He is very fixable with proper coaching and it goes to show the difference between the right franchise & the wrong franchise. Should really tell you something about Robert Saleh.

@@49ersfan21I think new QBs need teams that can tolerate failure. You need a rebuilding team that is not expected to win where the new QB can learn by failing. Trevor Lawrence threw 17 INTs his first year. You need to get those INTs out of your system. Wilson and Lance ended up on teams that were ready to win. Jets got good surprisingly fast and could not tolerate Wilson errors anymore. 49ers were good from the beginning and had no business drafting a rookie.

Coach Shanahan Coaching style reminds me of the late coach: Bill Walsh! Now do remember that his dad was an assistant under Bill Walsh, so do consider that coach Bill Walsh had a mentorship program for his assistant and his concepts of coaching has spread throughout the(NFL). So it's easy to see the (west coast offense) that Coach Shanahan is employing, is a direct reflection of coach Walsh. Also Both of the Shanahan's ( both father & son), were head coach & son assistant coach while at Denver). This where the son was taught the principles of the back then (West coast offence). So in retrospect: the offense that's employed by the younger Shanahan descends from the late Bill Walsh; it was labeled at that time as the west coast offense. Just a little history lesson 4 all you youngster's.

Damn it took Steve Young until his early 30's to get that 49ers starting job. Look at his NFL career. He was a bust with Tampa, then traded to the 49ers where he was a backup and when he did play it was hardly stellar. It was go in for an injured Joe or he was hurt. He really didn't get to start the majority of the season until 1992. Brock went out there and performed and earned that spot which he will continue to hold.

I don’t think that the saying of Shanny’s offense is that “any QB can play this offense” as far as the development of the receivers among the group and the run game. The QB is important but have got to have the guy that makes the plays. Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk and C-mac are amazing compliments to him. He won’t always have them, so take advantage while you have them. He doesn’t have to play any way, but doing the job will get him a title. All I hear from Steve is that this is the same type of team he played with win it all. So I’ll take the word from the big man, even if he was wrong about the Jimmy G led squad .

As the kidd progresses & becomes more acclimated to his teammates against pressure or in the trenches there are certain things he'll personally develop like knowing his guys every move their so called body language when they're going to break or accelerate at any given moment! His ability to process the information quickly & being able to adjust on the fly is what's going to make or break his accuracy & his percentages,if the O-line can do it's job consistently & the kidd doesn't out think himself this kidd (Mr.Irrelevant) can become Mr. Relevant in a hurry & put teams on notice! I want to see how he responds to being behind by a TD or two,can he muster out a win & can he take control & rise to the occasion is my (?). I'm liking what I'm seeing so far but honestly there's lots of football to be played & lots of teams out to prove him as a mediocre type QB so they're gonna test him from here on out trust that! If the Kidd can keep his composure don't make boneheaded ridiculous plays I believe he'll be just fine! Another Steve or Joe I hope so but it's way too soon to say! #thereal49erfaithful #lucky13thekidd

Brock is walking around at 230 6'1. He's a natural thrower so he can throw off bass accurately. He's not some super athlete you need to teach how to throw the ball properly which what 90% of NFL qbs are. I'm not naming names but the leagues rules have become so relaxed and easy for qbs anyone can put up empty stats but when you see a player who can't throw naturally at all only getting a shot because of his size then getting rewarded it makes the league kind of suck. It's kind of like how Donovan McNabb wasn't a natural thrower and Kurt Warner was. Watching Donovan play most games was just bad until he fixed his arm motion even when they were hitting playoffs
