I can feel that momentum is building with each passing week and although I am a cautious person and don't want to get ahead of myself, we haven't really been firing on all cylinders and yet we are 3-0. When this team gets revved up by week 6, look out. Brock Purdy is 8-0 as a starter. That's mind-blowing. He's about to go 9-0 after this weekend. Talk about adrenaline. Wow!

Steve Young, you might not remember me. I kinda met you during the ‘92 or ‘93 season. I was working off some parking tickets as a volunteer at the Hamilton Family Shelter, up in the Haight. It was coming up on Xmas and you came there, and set it out. You gave them kids lots of stuff and love, it was incredible. I was talking to some of the guys that lived there, we had a football, and we were discussing play action fakes. Unbeknownst to me you were standing a few behind me. So, after I demonstrated a deceptive play action fake with the ball momentarily hiding behind my thigh, I had turned and there you were. And, right on que you remarked jokingly “Oh, that must be for me”. Hahahahaha! You’re sharp. You were correct. You really got your mechanics down for that ‘94 season and went on and won everything. I know I ain’t got no business asking you for anything. But, I would consider us even steven, if, you can help young Purdy along the way. Don’t confuse him. He might lose a game sooner or later. Don’t let him lose his confidence. Take care of Purdy, and we’re square. 👍🏽

Montana on an interview, how do you stay so calm. He said when you take a test in school and you study , then you take test calmly and confidently. If you did not study and unprepared, there goes your confidence. I was prepared and knew where everyone should be, plus being prepared with defensive schemes. Purdy is prepared and knows where his players should be.

I experienced that before. Once I saved someone that was choking and couldn't breath. I was very calm. I was dialed in and focused. I doubt my heart rate even went up. It was a moment of clarity. I'm not a medical professional. I'd only read about the Heimlich maneuver but I'd never performed it before. But in that moment, I did it. I know what you mean. Many years ago we went to my ex mother in laws house for dinner and family time. I was watching TV and my now ex wife was in the kitchen with the kids and M-I-L cooking when the kids came running in to get me all in a panic. My wife had tasted something and it was lodged in her throat and she couldn't breathe. I was Red Cross certified as I taught motorcycle riding classes on the weekend. I stood up turned her around performed the Heimlich Procedure calmly and it worked. I then sat down and continued to watch TV. My B-I-L came in and said "How can you do that? I would be freaked out!". He was an EMT with all his training and he still freaked out when someone's life was on the line. I raced motorcycles as an amateur and a pro you simply stay calm and do what you are trained to do.

“Drafted on his measurables” Its the walking definition of grouped data. QB, especially any Shanahan QB, needs precise individual data on processing and accurate delivery. It exists in the form of Iowa State film. He reads defenses, delivers with nuance, and hangs in there. Full points, not height, weight, or arm strength whatever that really means. I’d lean to a measurement of “enough” for each throw. Purdy is just getting into the belly of his growth curve. It’s not linear. It’s geometric and he’s going to grow with the players around him. We won’t know his potential ceiling until playoff time

I think Purdy has already figured it out. He knows who he is and what he can do. He just goes out there and does the best he can. There have been some fantastic Non-Prototype, QBs in Football History, Fran Tarkenton, Phil Simms, Pat Haden, Doug Flutie, Jim McMahon and a few others. I really dont think we should Frame Purdy as anything but an NFL QB. Nothing more and nothing less.

Purdy is getting the Stephen Curry treatment. …too small, too fragile, too boyish looking, un-intimidating, not athletic,…… similar college experience as well. top colleges wouldn’t draft either of them. they go to smaller schools and thrive there. at least Steph got drafted in the 1st round.

Steph had a golden spoon compared to Purdy. Maybe you can make similarities with the fathers being athletes, but even then, Brock's dad was just a minor leaguer which pays peanuts compared to being in the league like Dell for a solid decade. Also didn't megastars like Lebron go and attend Curry's Davidson games? Curry was his own sensation in college, Purdy didn't even get love when he was in shootouts with Mahomes.
