We all hear thing differently. To me it is vastly different than previous albums and one of his best. I will be playing this for many many years.

I’ve got quite a sentimental attachment to this new album, I went to one of the album launch listening party’s and that memory has definitely amplified my love for this album having heard it the way it was intended. And also a fan of ambient and soundscapey/movie score music I love this album But I can’t help feeling that my opinion might be slightly biased in that I’ve got fond memories concerning the album already and some songs are still yet to grow on me (Inclination definitely) but some songs I absolutely on the album such as Actual Brutal Facts and Time Is Running Out, they’re the darker tracks on the album but I love them both! I can definitely see the album being a grower for many fans, and I reckon that it might be one that ages like a fine wine

I was hoping to see your reaction to Staircase Ruben!

Pocupine Tree is my favorite Steven Wilson, & his mixing/recording work with Marillion, Yes, & Opeth, etc - is amazing! I find this album to be very listenable - but kinda dull as well......too "Indie" or "Popish"??

So far, I like the album but don’t love it. However, I have had it in my car CD player since I got it (signed, thanks Steven) and keep wanting to play it. It won’t be beating PT but maybe is better than TTB. Staircase and Inclination are probably my faves. Could perhaps have done with a little trim to the start of inclination but like the transition in it. One criticism, not enough played by Wilson, himself, especially guitar. I prefer his guitar playing to the others he uses. I think this will continue to grow for me, my favourite albums usually do. There’s no Blackest Eyes, Trains or Anethsetize etc. here (could have listed dozens of others) sadly but still mostly solid.

Ok, that's your reaction, not mine ;-) I hated TFB, but love this one more and more! You should make a pause and listen to it later. For me it's avery clever, innovative and with a sound (oh my God!).
