I always used to be a Husqvarna guy but I can not take to the 5 series saws, I mainly run a Husky 353 and Stihl MS462 now as the 462 has a really good weight to power balance. In the UK there is only about £100 money difference between the Stihl and Husqvarna saws so it can be pretty hard to choose.

I think a 400c would be right up my alley. I seldom cut anything bigger than 24",its just to hard to move around and load in a truck. Yes i can noodle them down to smaller sizes, but its just easier to avoid it unless its easy to het on a utility trailer

just got a 400c last friday with a 25 inch bar/chain , it's my first chainsaw ever . we got a wood boiler almost 3 months ago and i gotta learn to cut wood . i have a few VERY well seasoned folks to teach me . i'm about to order a pair of Clogger Zero PRO Light and Cool UL Chainsaw Chaps Calf Wrap ..... should i consider a different pair or maker ?

@@gunterbecker8528 mine has a 25 inch bar and it does fine cutting through 36 inch tree trunk sections (cut down as deep as i can burying the blade then rolling with my cant to finish) . FWIU ...... the stock oiler is good up to the 25 inch bar and when folks go longer than that they start having problems . with my 25 when i rev it up over cardboard it slings oil on it ...... for what ever that may or not be worth ????

I like to see downed trees being used . I hate when small green trees are cut for firewood. I know it is harder to get enough trees for the big guys. I have been cutting since 1981 and the only live trees I have cut are ones that I was paid to cut. I have no trouble finding enough dead trees in the forests around me. I know this is not the case for everyone or people that have a big firewood business.
