Wow great tutorial. Love the channel. 2 years ago I ported my first saw with your videos. I did it for an arborist and he followed up with me a year later and told me it is the best saw he owns. I just bought a 462Cand plan on finishing this one for myself.

Wow 300 plus views and only 72 thumbs up come on people show some support for all this wonderful information and wonderful advice. It cost nothing to smash the thumbs up and it helps this gentleman with this channel. This certainly is peeking my interest to attempt a porting job. I have a couple old cylinders I will likely play with first. I think I might give it a go on my 55 husky to see if I can make it dance. I have a rebuild one and a stock one so it would be a good comparison for me. Thanks for all the info you provided. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙 Ps. Happy birthday Charlie... wow one already... soon she'll be going off to university or college...give her all the hugs and cuddles you can buddy. 😂

I'm currently doing a bottom end on a Jonsered 2150 (Husqvarna 350). This is the THIRD time I'm doing it. The first time I installed Chinese junk,, second time I installed improperly. Finally on the third attempt got it right by freezing the bearings before inserting them into the seals. Now they clicked in nice and tight. Hopefully she runs when I get her back together. Great vid. Can't wait to see her run. I'm sure she'll be strong.

Thank you Tinman for your advice, much appreciated. I have checked the squish its at .040", intake at 66 and exhaust at 93 after grinding to the chrome , the chrome isn't flaking its just worn, it must have done a lot of work, it came from a deceased estate, Happy birthday Charlie.

Addiction for sure you and @charlesbriscoe have me addicted up to 26 now, damn evilbay and a vevor 8x20 lathe does the job. Have a few clones theybare fun to test with because if a rod puts a hole in the gas tank atleast its in good fun and learning!!

What you say about the original engineer and production line compromises is bang on. The book "Performance Two Stroke Tuning" has a whole chapter on "Blueprinting" at the very start if I remember correctly. The book says you're not trying to outsmart the engineers, but ensure their original design specs are actually met in the real world. Heard Donny Walker mention blueprinting before, I think it's very much a thing in the kart racing world but must apply to all engines logically.

I'll agree, ported saws are fun. I've done two bc of your channel. An Echo cs440 about 3 years ago, and a 268 with a 272 big bore this year. May see you at the Paul Bunyan show, not sure it'll work out.

Hi tinman picked up a 372 I want to put a big bore and port for a nice solid saw. I'll be picking your brain soon. Like how you explain how and why you do things. Keep them coming. Be kind❤❤

Excited see this one rip when it’s done. My buddy just gave me his dads old stihl 026. Excited to get running again, no clue how long it’s been since it ran last. Currently no spark. So waiting on some parts to show up for it. Then once I have it running good I do plan to port it. It’ll be my first.

Yeah from what little research I’ve done so far it seems to be. I’m also going to be basically making it an 026pro/ms260. From what I’ve found the only difference is the carb/air filter, tank vent and filter cover. I’ve already ordered all that. Hopefully have it running this coming weekend. New coil showed up today for it. Just waiting on the carb, spark plugs, and tank vent now.

@@St3althMonger you probably know that an 026 oils continuously when the motor is spinning. The PRO and the MS260 upgraded to a modern clutch driven bar oiler.

Happy Birthday Charlie!🎉 Tinman, I have talking to John Walker about porting my 592XP, what are your thoughts on this? Is it worth it? I’m just ordering a Walkerised cylinder and piston. Cheers.
