This video has put into words what I have been trying to articulate for the longest time. There is power in letting go. We naturally gravitate towards things that interests us, so no need to worry about becoming passive. Being rigid or having a routine is counterproductive, because you become "locked in", and your motivation/confidence becomes tied to doing these things. What happens when you can't follow the script? Do you suddenly become a failure? Of course not, but that is how I have felt everytime. Don't worship a to do list or a routine, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment when you inevitably go "off-script".
@alexandrenedellec7116

Indeed that's why a semi rigid routine can be helpful imo. Like one part of the day is a routine and the other half isn't and you can do whatever you want
@Thregh

@@alexandrenedellec7116 yeah, I feel that. Because, if you are too loose and not having any systems and workflows, your motivation will not magically pop up and help you get everything done on time. Chasing 'better' can become an endless cycle of discontentment, always seeking external validation and never feeling fulfilled. Shadow Work, on the other hand, encourages us to confront our inner struggles, fears, and unresolved emotions. It allows us to embrace all aspects of ourselves, including the parts we may have suppressed or denied.

How do you handle days when you know you should have done something. For example I don't feel good about myself if I don't run or workout each day. I feel shame because I know I could have done it and my internal self respect goes down. This just doesn't make sense to me.
@michaels2208

I like that you heavily promote doing the work. I was in therapy for probably 8 years with the VA, several different medications. Then my Dr got real and said this stuff isn't going to magically fix you, you have to do the work, this is only here to help you do that. I'm by no means "better". But I understand more that it is up to me to dig out of the unalive myself funk. When I don't shower for a week because I am in a deep bad rut, I have to make the decision to fix that. It's still not any easier, but accepting that everything else are tools that you have to use.

I had a moment of self acceptance today and it was glorious. My boss and coworker were poking fun at my sour mood today (and it was good-natured and I was laughing too). and usually I would feel kind of bothered because I’d be telling myself “you should not have had those ‘bad’ feelings ” today”. And much to my surprise, I just accepted it and thought “hm yeah I was feeling sassy today; whatever! The clients will survive and I was still pleasant with them!”. Felt good❤

I've got mad ADHD and that list in the beginning part resonated with me. Typically each day I make a to-do list for for that day and I constantly find myself failing to complete them. It's not even because I'm not necessarily capable of completing them or don't want to, sometimes I just run out of time in the day for the next task or it might be sometime minor that truly can wait. But because I sometimes fail to complete them, I've realized recently I really do use it as ammunition against myself and beat myself up for it. I've been doing that kind of schedule for years now and I'm finally realizing I need to change something up. Instead of making a daily list, I've started to write down my tasks for the entire week instead to lay it all on the table. It's helped my planning tremendously and I'm able to kinda prioritize things properly rather than just deciding day by day. Looking back, for me personally the day by day schedule was reckless as fuck and I don't know why I didn't think of changing things up sooner 😭🤣🤣🤣 Just wanted to share that in case anyone has had that similar struggle 🔥
@brandtm721

This is actually a great idea. I’ve been struggling with ADHD for my whole life as well, and I can never get a grip on finishing to-do lists or actually being as productive as I aspire to be. But your idea I’m totally gonna try. Being able to look at the whole week at a glance and then being able to break that weeks tasks up into smaller chunks at my own discretion might give me the kind of Goldilocks schedule I need. Not too busy and rigid where every day is planned out, but also not too loosey goosey where I don’t even know what I should be doing or accomplishing. Thank so much for sharing

This is exactly what I've been struggling with for ages. Years ago I'd litterally write insanely long lists of tasks for the day expecting myself to finish it all, then feel guilty and stay up late as fuck to catch up, and then obviously get too exhausted to finish and too stressed to sleep. My plan at the moment is to do a list of bigger long term goals, break them down into milestones/projects that aren't too lengthy, and give myself a timetable where I'm vaguely focused on different areas on different days of the week, rather than expecting myself to do a bit of everything every single day, having a structure. Working out regularly really taught me how to have that balance, between hardwork/discipline and also allowing myself to skip a day if I need to without feeling guilty but still putting in a lot of hard work. All we can do is hold ourselves to high standards and find a way to follow through, but we can't hold ourself to impossible ones.

Hi Clark! I enjoyed watching your video, and I'm very happy to hear you mention therapy as a way of not suppressing negative emotions. A lot of other KZitem channels that focus on self-improvement give the impression that you can overcome personal roadblocks, like poor self-image, on your own if you really, really want to. But I've found that that in itself is a type of suppression, because if you overlook the root causes, you're really just hiding it under layers of positivity. The negativity is still there, just waiting for something to trigger it back to life. Therapy is essential because it can reveal aspects of yourself you're not aware of, that are holding you back. You can't see the picture if you're in the frame.

You cant remove Intel ME and cpus and other chips have integrated wifi, 5g, antennas and you are connected even when you physically remove whats supposed to be the only wifi antenna you got. Also every modern monitor, lcds, etc are backwardscompatible as cameras. They are basically creating remote access with cameras to all modern devices. They use this to blackmail with videos like this to make you think that you are depressed and should work on selfimprovement even though you are totally fine and feeling, not happy, is totally normal. They want you to buy the vegetable powderjuice product and make money etc. They want you to work harder on the next google algorithm, while they are sitting there scratching their assholes making money smuggeling drugs, blackmailing, selling hookers, bribing cops, embezzlements..

Shadow work is in essence accepting the less than salubrious aspects of your psyche that you would otherwise project or repress within yourself. But it is always easier to project, than to assimilate. I think that is maybe why shadow work is seemingly easy but also quite difficult because you have to be the most honest you have ever been within yourself and admit to many less than light filled aspects, emotions and judgements in yourself. Then ask where do these voices, opinions, ideas (introjects) come from and there lies another layer of shadow work. It's fascinating, in a way it's in the end, a form of self philosophy that needs to be cultivate by yourself for yourself. But in short, be honest and intuitive, admit your mistakes and darker sides (no one is entirely virtue or vice filled but a mingling of both) and try to lead with being kind and loving and curious like a kid, not full of righteousness, arrogance and superiority status chasing. Sending love to who reads 💖

All addictions and negative behaviors stems for our repressed unresolved emotions i believe. It would be in our best interests to get to the root of these unhealed emotions and release them for good. Peace and freedom is on the other side of it.

Really appreciate this. All great tools. I can vouch for the necessity of abstinence. I'm an alky, 24 years. I still miss how it killed the pain. It was after 5 years off booze, the flashbacks came into focus. I call 'em flashblacks, cuz there's no visual. Only kinesthetic. I became a bodyworker. I had a middle aged client who as a teenager fled an eastern European civil war, with a piece of shrapnel in his lower leg. Made it the States, acclimated. That piece of shrapnel was still there. Utterly marvelous how the body "encapsulates" the foreign object embedded, a sort of membrane of scar tissue sealing in all the toxicity. To attempt surgical removal would actually be dangerous, toxins will enter the blood stream. Aren't some psychic wounds like that, so deeply embedded they remain intractable. I certainly don't love myself, i barely tolerate myself, and that's progress i need to accept. The concept of an upper cap is useful. Sadly i can vouch also how lack of self love prohibits pair- bonding. I fired myself from dating, glad i'm old

5 1/2 years sober... wow the reality train hits..... the emotions come up, facing them is powerful ! Hard to do, but worth the pain. I look in the Mirror daily and say " I love you Peter ". Try that using your own name of course. Self love and forgiveness is freeing.

I have recently had a TBI and received surgery for a separate injury that has left my in severe chronic pain, as well as many traumas to go along with them. It wreaked absolute havoc on my personality. For so long i just kept trying to keep going and figure out my personality along the way. At 22 years old, i have finally suppressed the emotional side of myself and become disconnected. Life seems slightly easier, but i have become almost completely selfish. Nearly sociopathic. Dont be afraid to escape sometimes. I chose to allow myself to escape a couple weeks ago and i have just been gaming and working. The sociopathic urges i have had are still there but not as strong.

Self acceptance would be so much easier if I had money. Not money for material possessions, but for freedom to be myself

I feel like the people here searching for this on KZitem are not really about self improvement but more about how to not do nothing. That is really the angle we should take. Don't focus on better, just don't do NOTHING.

No upper limit to self improvement because you have the power to learn something new each day that will make you a better version of yourself therefore making you more valuable to others.

Shadow work is the yin and self improvement is the yang. They are both necessary to become the identity of the authentic healed version of you. It's the balance of the feminine and masculine energies. Allowing, verses generating. Seeing the inner darkness and loving the wounded child where they are, creating a safe space for being, and then the ground is better cultivated for planting the new seed. We need to love what is before we can see what will be in our present manifestation. It's hard to love what we loathe or are afraid to look at. But that is the key. It's why ho'oponopono works. It's what it means to come to zero.

Meditation is the key.......The problem is most of us think that meditation is something we do, in reality it's not. Truth is you can't practice or do meditation rather to become meditativeness. It's a state of being(stillness) where we can observe crystal clearly that which we're not(body, mind & emotions or psychological drama) therefore self realization & end of suffering(end of ignorance). I'm not saying this for sake of saying, Personally I've experienced it. Give yourself all in then you can realize by your own. One love!

Thank u for the video. I really needed this thoughtful advice. I broke down crying and realized what I had been distracting myself from these few years. I wanna stop being self-destructive before it's too late. I wanna face my problems, and conflicts while is still manageable. I have a privileged life, and it is insane how lost you can be, even tho you are living a pretty easy life compared to the rest of the world. I didn't realize our mind and mental health is so important before now. I'm tired of doubting myself. I'm tired of feeling like I'm not being enough. I wanna accept myself no matter the circumstance. We need to practice thankfulness and appreciate the life we have been gifted. Something I wanna improve is to stop being greedy. I wanna have better self-control and stop being so self-centered. You can be so caught up in your compulsions. We need a breather in this fast-pacing world to have a chance to listen to our bodies.

My escape is food. I have been diagnosed with binge eating disorder. I like to explain it to people who may not be familiar with is it is like a drug addiction. While I’m eating lunch for example my mind is constantly thinking about where I’m getting my next “fix” from. I quit smoking back in 2017 cold turkey, did the math and I’ve saved over $50,000AUD. I believe having an eating disorder is one of the hardest to cope with as you just can’t take away the food from your house. You need it to survive, its everywhere.
