For the last 2 years I have had extreme pain off and on in my back. First on the right side then over time on both sides. A couple weeks ago, I went to the VA hospital ER thinking my kidneys were going out. They informed me that my kidneys seemed to be fine. So, after doing some research online and on KZitem I started to take a Vitamin D3 + K2, Magnesium Glycinate and a Trace Minerals capsule daily. The pain is almost completely gone! The pain was like someone was inside my back and was poking me with a sharp needle. I have been a fulltime caregiver to my parents for years now and I definitely don't get enough sunlight and have a lot of stress. I have also recently started to do juicing of vegetables and fruits. Thank You so much for posting this information! This is still a big problem that not enough people are aware of including medical people. At 57 I had been having ankle pain for at least five years, but hadn’t done anything to injure it. I finally went to a clinic where the nurse-practitioner said my symptoms could be related to lupus or Vitamin D deficiency. My Vitamin D3 level was 17. After taking the highest over-the-counter dose (10,000 w/ K2) my ankle pain and a lot of other joint pain I’d been having went away. My depression I’d had for decades went away as if a switch had been flipped. When I looked up Vitamin D deficiency symptoms, I realized I’d had them for most of my life. The NP who checked my Vit D3 level had had the problem herself, so she recognized and suspected Vitamin D deficiency.

I appreciate you Doc. You're not afraid of Big Pharma coming after you :). My wife and I are in our 60s and we've been taking vitamin D3+ K2 for over 20 years. 10,000 IUs between Oct. 1 and April 1 and 5,000 IUs during the rest of the year. Our levels are both in the 70ng/ml range and we've not had the flu once. In fact neither one of us is any meds. Health is Wealth

The focus of the industry is on generating revenue from sick individuals. Personally, I take 35,000 IU of vitamin D per day, along with 300 mcg of K2MK7 and 600 mg of magnesium, resulting in the complete elimination of my psoriasis. This affordable solution contrasts with doctors' recommendations for costly biologics, priced at 10-15k dollars annually.

One of the best videos on D I have come across congrats. ! Good info esp on toxicity levels not affected @ 10k IU's until 40k ! That is the info I found as well. And also good to hear recommended dose of 5k - 10k IU's. But the levels of only 30 mls is pretty low and 100 mls danger is not consistent with other research . Optimum levels have been found to be 100 - 150 mls especially in the north in winter. Regarding the amount of mag depends on the amount of Vit D . Info I have come across is 100 mgs of mag for every 1000 IU's of Vit D .

I need to increase vitamin D3K2 although my doctor said it’s good, but that’s according to medical scores, and in listening to other integrative MDs, the standard is low. I had two doctors tell me that I needed to push my Vitamin D levels up to deal with certain autoimmune issues. This was when I lived in a northern state with decent health care. I moved to the rural east coast and had a doctor argue with me, stating that levels in the 20s were normal, not deficient. Of course I had to get a new doc. I can't tell whether he just didn't know what he was talking about or if lower levels ensure greater profits for medical and drug industries. It was bizarre.

Amazing, I take about that much as well. For me personally it has made such a noticeable difference. During the winter in the hospital I would always get sick like 3-4x per year minimum, now I barely get a sore throat if anything at all for years

It’s very possible that people take it incorrectly. It’s a fat soluble vitamin (the D3) so you need to take it with good fat sources. Like, avocados, coconut oil, or olive oil, etc

*A hidden danger of Vit D deficiency is that, if low Vit D causes serum calcium to go low enough, the parathyroids will fail, and there's no restarting them thereafter, just trouble with blood pressure and calcium usage.* When I was diagnosed as highly Vit D deficient, I was at just before that point. Now, after using direct serum analysis to judge my Vit D level, I take 15K IU a day, plus 2k a day in winter. I also give my dogs 4k a day, and they're the first boxers I ever had who have _never_ had a mast-cell tumor! Note that standing naked in your backyard at the summer solstice will cause people of pale complexion to generate c. 25k to 35k IU of Vit D within a half hour, and no yard workers (or surfers) are falling dead from Vit D toxicity! The body has a way to handle any day-to-day over-abundance of Vit D without toxicity arising--unless they're injected with several million IU at one go in a hospital error...
You will probably get visits from the police too. Just saying ...

Some years ago my doctor informed me I was deficient in Vit D and recommended I take a Vit D supplement. When I did my heart went into atrial fibrillation with 48 hours. That happened twice in random attempts to take the supplement. So I had to stop. I was only taking 400 units a day and he wanted me to take much higher levels. My levels are still fairly low but I eat more fish and try to get more sunlight.

My Vit D level was low so my Dr told me that he was going to prescribe Vit D for me to take 1 capsule a WEEK. I said ok but why the prescription Vit D why can't I just take an over the counter Vit D? My Dr said NO DONOT ever take those over the counter vitamins and supplements because most of those are made in China and other countries that put ANYTHING in those and it's not inspected so you don't know what's really in those.

I liked the video, one thing that should be mentioned about Vit D in those countries you mentioned. I have been in Afghanistan and several others,,,These people never show their skin, they wear full bodied clothing all the time. I never saw a man or woman or child with exposed skin, it is a religious belief, Islam.

My last Vitamin D came back at 109. I don't take any supplements. I am primarily a carnivore, I eat veggies now and then, but normally just beef, deer, chicken (dark meat), fish and shrimp. I hardly ever get sick. I work around people in and office where they are always hacking the lungs out. I rarely catch it, and if I do, it's just a sniffle for a day or two.

There is not a cure for Parkinson's Disease. If you have found a cure, you could become rich. You might have significantly alleviated symptoms. There are also some conditions that give Parkinson's-like symptoms but they are not Parkinson's. Typically, for true Parkinson's alleviation of symptoms is through drugs that increase dopamine, but the effects wear off over time. It is a disease which catches up with you. In some studies, high-cadence tandem bike cycling was found to significantly decrease symptoms without using so much medications. Probably exercise bikes could have a similar benefit, but being out and about on a tandem could be so much nicer.

I had plantar fasciitis for over 18 months, tried everything including expensive orthotics, all to no avail. Had suffered bouts of this before in my 40's/50's which eventually resolved in say 6 months but this last dose (now I'm 60's) was the pits. Tried Vitamin D supplementation in desperation - I'd come to believe i'd never be free of the pain.....two weeks into the Vitamin D it had almost gone! Couldn't believe it! That was well over a year ago and it has not returned🤞- I have also been taking Magnesium Glycinate and K2 since learning how they work together. Same here with plantar fasciitis in my left foot. Dr. Berg's video recommended D3. Latter i discovered i needed K2 with it, and mag. Did not cure it overnight. Took a good month.

Just an N of 1 here, but this past May I thought I was having a stroke. Severe brain fog, had to hold on for dear life to descend 3 steps, legs crossing and I actually fell twice. Got blood work done, my vitamin D was 6, and I was obviously symptomatic. Long story short I started supplementing with 5000 IU D3/day. The crushing fatigue and insatiable hunger are gone. The fog has lifted for the most part and I'm back to my sarcastic self, the balance issues are improving but I'm not 100% yet. I started weight loss efforts and have lost 50 pounds so far, my A1C is in the high normal range now (it was indicative of T2D), and my BP is around 125/75 +/- . I certainly have to work at it, but it isn't as difficult when my hunger feels "normal", not like I am famished all the time. Anyway people ask if I'm taking one of the new meds for obesity and seem surprised when I tell them that I'm laying a lot of my success right at the feet of vitamin D. I'm 64 and a nurse. I should have known, but I didn't. I'll be looking into K2 now as well. Thanks, I found your video interesting and it confirms a number of the benefits I've been experiencing myself. Finally I was fortunate. I got a bone density done and it doesn't appear that I did any damage in that respect.

I love your videos !! The design for how they are scripted for your deliveries is sooooo cool and fun too!! This Vit D is critical for our human evolution. After living in southern Ontario, Canada for several years I noticed in 2015 when I decided to drive to Arizona and visit my uncle that the sores on my skin healed themselves while down closer to the equator. Driving back and going to a suntan salon I mentioned what had happened. That's when the owner of the sun tanning salon, Steve, described why and how the UVB sunlight position was the natural health factor healing the sores on my skin !!! Especially how potent the sunlight with a natural positive skin healing bacteria was at 4,000 ft up in Northern, Arizona. Alberta is a sunny province. Annual bright sunshine totals range between 1,900 up to just under 2,600 hours per year. Northern Alberta gets about 18 hours of daylight in the summer.👍👍🤗

Two weeks ago I did a complete blood test because there was just some things off with my body (light pressure in head, sometimes dizzyness, muscle/bone pain) and what I suspected I had a vit D level of 16 ng/ml (or 41 nmol/l) as well as a high LDL cholesterol. Since last week I've been taking supplements and using magnesium. Been watching my saturated fat and staying of the coffee. It's too soon to tell if I'm going into the right direction (apart from the slight coffee withdrawals)

I'm pretty sure that the better form of K2 is MK-4 because it is better utilized by the body from every study I've read. I've read that MK-7 is much harder for your body to utilize.

Very helpful, a bit overwhelming. Thank you. I've also viewed many of Dr. Barry's videos. I took notes the second time around, but surely missed a lot. My doc put me on D3, K2, & Omega 3 at our first meeting after my first bone density scan showed that I have osteoporosis. I add 1/4t of mag citrate (from bulk supplements) to my morning protein smoothie, and eat fermented cabbage/veggies daily, so I think (hope?) that has enough zinc plus more K2.The difficulty I have with all of these supplements is to know when and how to take them, especially whether they can be taken together, with a meal, etc. I'm a 67 yo old tall, underweight woman. I've almost eliminated wheat, most grains (except organic popcorn & masa), most dairy, and sugar other than honey and maple syrup. Though a careful omnivore, beans and quinoa make up a large part of my diet. I wish I could work with a professional to guide me in putting everything together, because abundant conflicting information is overwhelming and I'm always second guessing myself. In this world of specialists, I have no idea who to even look for to get this assistance.

These 3 doctors videos intricately cover so many important topics, and you can look at their lists of videos to find what you want to watch first. The supplements will all have info on their packaging to guide you on how much to take, and when, and whether to take them with food or between meals. There may be instances where you can/should briefly take mote or less and that is why it's great to watch the videos.

This is the single best Vitamin D video I have found and I love that the role of Magnesium was mentioned. If there is something missing, I think there is a lack of research to potential contributing factors in Magnesium, the anti nutrients that lead to Magnesium deficiency that ultimately express as a vitamin D deficiency. You can't significantly raise vitamin D without magnesium but then many of the natural high magnesium foods would actually lower magnesium because of the anti nutrients in those foods that prevent magnesium absorption. And then there's coffee which everyone is addicted to. It should be no wonder that so many coffee drinking carnivores find low vitamin D in their blood work. They are already on a diet that is low in Vitamin D and low in Magnesium but then the coffee blocks the little bit of magnesium they are consuming. Then they take a bunch of vitamin D to bring their levels back up except all it does is lower the magnesium so the high dose of vitamin D doesn't actually raise the D in their blood. Even more likely on keto if you are eating the foods that are high in magnesium since in reality they effectively impair your magnesium intake. So you have a bunch of greens or you eat a blcok of 90% dark chocolate to help improve your magnesium levels but instead you wake up in the middle of the night with the worst charlie horse cramps of your life. I think anti nutrients are a significant factor in low vitamin D levels because of their effect contributing to low magnesium levels.

I use to compete in college w/ the debate team. In my persuasive speech comp I had a 10min argument about a sun phobic culture and vitamin D deficiency 😂 this was in 2002 people thought I was nuts 😂 I have my vitamin D levels checked every year. I also have an immune disorder, I love a doc trained in functional medicine.

I have been on Vit D3K2 for about 5 years. I also take B complex. For some mild neuropathy. Many days neuropathy isn't even noticable. I have changed my diet to very healthy. Low carbs, quality protein. Greens, berries, broccoli, 🥦🥗. My weight loss was good. I walk, do yoga, getting back to weights more. I need mg citrate or mg glycinate, (best mg threonine. Cost more but best.)

Being diagnosed with Osteoporosis I was prescribed Calcium-D tablets plus a once a week ‘Acid’ tablet. However, didn’t want the Acid so stopped. Had to go for another Dex Scan which showed my Calcium was too high. Now prescribed Vit D only. If I hadn’t questioned this, I could still be on Calcium supplements to a dangerous level.

Egg Recipe of his Egg of duck is as follows. In a glass blender blend 2 whole eggs including the shells. Add a few garlic and small onions with seaweed and some herbal leafy greens of your choice. Add some diced tomatoes. Add some fresh ginger and turmeric root. Add some coconut milk. Blend into a smooth consistency and add to a mixing bowl. Mix in some milled seed and nut to thicken. Make a paddy in your hands or just add your ingredients to a frying pan with some bone broth or vegetable broth put on low heat and cover with the glass lid. Take out a serving plate and add some raw large leafy greens like cabbage. With a spoon spread some organic mustard and hot salsa sauce with a sprinkle of dry herbs of your choice on the spread. Dr Joel Gould is another expert on sunlight and cancer who should be referred to. White skin in Europeans evolved from both the migration into northern lattitudes as well as the aggregation of populations into farming settlements. Incidentally, the reported benefits of vitamin D in relation to covid may in fact be a sunlight benefit separately from the vitamin D issue - possibly Nitric Oxide. Our relationship with the sun is also influenced by our sulfur levels and the effect of glyphosate on our metabolism (see Dr Seneff)

I so much appreciate your clarity and helpful presentations. Yes a lot of people don;t realize Vit D is actually a kind of molecule that is actually hormone related -- yes fat soluable obviously I am far from any medico and don't have huge dosh but after about 8 months on prescribed 5000 units my levels were ok and for those who care, skin hair energy mood demonstrably improved and I am highly suspicious of snake oil claims. Yes I had to pay .... a one time fee for the extra blood work but it was worth it and glad I did. Also most important for me bone density improved. I know the epidemialogical studies (ok not a proper word humour me lost my glasses) not always given the attention they merit but ... what can I say? The canary in the coal mine. I am speculating that pollution ... if not greenhouse effect has to have affected us all.

Vitamin D is not "hormone related" it is a hormone. It is not a "vitamin" in that it does not need to be ingested as the body makes it. It is best to be ingested and then the UV damage to the skin, during its production, does not need to happen.

The other thing that’s interesting about getting vitamin D is that we need to not keep taking a shower right after or right before we’re out in the sun because it washes everything off we use soaps that wash our natural oils off and then we don’t have that natural oil to turn into vitamin D when we’re out in the sun

There is no significant difference in taking either supplement unless you get some undesired reaction like an upset stomach as some people are more sensitive than others to some forms of magnesium supplement. If there is no other underlying medical issue but insufficient magnesium in your diet then both forms of magnesium as a supplement should help you with getting rid of migraine. I've read that if you have a cholesterol problem, you should supplement Vit D as the body uses cholesterol to synthesise Vit D. Also, that the body will store cholesterol in preparation for the synthesis of vit D. I wonder how many are put on big pharma stattins when all they need to do is optimise their Vit D levels!

I have to agree. I got mercury and cadmium poisoning so I went to a functional medicine practitioner. After fixing my gut issues and detoxing, he said I needed more vitamin D. So, I followed his directions and started taking 20k units/day. Thats when I started getting leg cramps. It took me some time to realize I needed magnesium. Now, I take sublingual vitamin D3+K2 MK7 and magnesium. Since the poisoning, I've quit my usual job (pharmacy) and started working outside all day long. I haven't been sick with a cold or covid since then. I get sunlight since I'm down here in Texas but I still take at least 10k units of vitamin D daily. I wish someone would put D, K and magnesium in the same supplement. By the way, my functional medicine practitioner used to be a pharmacist.

Great Video, thank you. I actually have hypervitaminosis d, meaning I have Vit D toxicity. This is a very long story, but to cut it short, apparently the 5000IU's a day was too much and I was taken off the Vit D. I have always taken the K2 in the form of Mk7 at 200-300mcg a day. I was off the Vit D for almost 8 months and started noticing all the symptoms of Vit D deficiency. Soooo, I started again but slowly worked back up to 5000IU a day. I stopped again about 3 weeks before my blood work and when the blood work came back and I am toxic again. I'm very upset cause I feel good when taking the 5000iu. My doctor is freaking out cuz he thinks I'm sending calcium right to my heart valves because he doesn't really know much about the K2 and doesn't want to believe me. I will of course have to work this out with him, and I will have to figure out how much will work. Forgot to mention I have a rare autoimmune disease known as myasthenia and that's why I started taking Vit D in higher doses to begin with. It has help immensely and recommend anyone with an autoimmune disease or cancer to take Vit D with K2, I have been able to come off 18 of my 20 medications, and feel better than I did 20 years ago.

The author recommends a multivitamin, but most multivitamins don't have K2 or absorbable Mg, and even more importantly, recent studies have shown that daily mutivitamin use is actually linked to DECREASED longevity. I'd love the author to address that.

Could you please expand on the function of Vit K2 and blood coagulation? I recall reading an abstract that mentioned vit K2 forming part of the initiation of clotting. This is very important to be understood particularly for both cancer patients and those suffering from either an acute or a chronic viral or bacterial infection. These conditions tend to enhance blood clotting while present. If it is the case that K2 does take part in the initiation of clotting, then these patients should perhaps restrain from supplementing with it or supplement with natural blood thinners simultaneously. But again, please expand on K2 and coagulation and be as technical as possible. Thank you.

Are you sure you have taken Mk7 and not another type of k2? Although I do have some odd things that my body reacts differently to.

Yes k2 m7 but I take more magnesium now it helps to combat hearth palpitations I Got last year. Could be a magnesium deficient is my guess.

I did a video when you convert the dosage for rats it's the equivalent of taking about 88 billion IUs (human recommendations are 1-2 thousand...) 😊🙏❤️

I've taken K2 (100-300mcg daily), magnesium citrate (600mg daily) and 8000 IU of D3 for over a year, and my vit D levels were still at only 42ng/mL. Not even in the optimum zone, nevermind anywhere near toxic levels, even taking that much D3 every day.

My blood work is low on d, and every time I take supplements (3000iu I believe), I get really fatigued and lightheaded after a few days.
