Today, I'm back up here at a Chevron gas station in San Antonio TX owned by a small convenience store company known as Zoom Stop (taking over ownership of this location from Tetco starting in 2015) along US 281 and I'll be going through this nice older 1st generation Mark VII SoftWash XT. This system was installed in late 2016 replacing an old vintage Mark VII Aquajet GT700, which it personally a shame since those older vintage style Mark VII systems are getting harder and harder to find and are disappearing rapidly. Now I did mention in the title that this is a strange system, but I don't mean in the way that the system did a bad job, but this system oddly lacks tri-foam applicators, which I find very strange especially for a system made in the 2010s, but regardless, this system does get a surprising amount of usage out of it, probably since it's right next to an office building, and most of those employees are likely taking advantage of being just nearby. I did buy the top dollar wash for this which came out to only $12, and wash quality for this I would give it an 8/10 (not bad even for lacking tri-foam), undercarriage wash was pretty decent (though it did seem a little weak), the prewash cycle went good, the presoak pass went surprisingly good, the overhead application was non-existent (IDK whether that was supposed to be the rinse portion, or if that was supposed to be the lava wax material, and the chemicals were completely depleted), the forward rinse cycle was good (maybe the overhead cycle was meant to be a rinse pass), the soft touch cycle went surprisingly good particularly because this system was programmed to apply presoak while also performing the soft touch pass, though being a Mark VII system, the brushes very lightly contact the vehicle (I wonder if that was programmed intentionally though to prevent the system from being too aggressive and potentially damaging the car's surface), the rinse pass after the soft touch cycle was good, the surface protection wax went good, as was the surface protection and the spot free rinse cycles, and lastly the dryers did an excellent job, I can say without argument that these Mark VII Vortex dryers are probably the best/most powerful dryers from any in bay car wash I've ever used, they always do a fantastic job, and these were no exception. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy the video, and stay tuned for more
