I saw Frank in the early 80's and this was the only song that he used a strat. That explains the different tuning and the beautiful clean tone.

It is a truly unique song, which is probably why it's the title song of the album!

Dude! Thank you so very much! This one's always remained kind of a mystery to me, what a wonderful song by Frank for you to share with everyone! Many respects to you, and thanks again!

You're welcome! My first exposure to Frank was via tunes like Land of 1000 Nights & Strange Universe. I was an instant fan, and have been ever since!

I got this Strange Universe vinyl record as a Christmas gift back in 75. The Gibson SG is a smaller sized guitar but it looks huge on the back cover with Frank playing it. I had to special order his 2 previous albums from 73 and 74 from the record store. It looks like he put single coils in that SG on that last live album. One hundred dollars is a bit to much for me to pay for that 6 hour set on DVD.

Frank was 20 when this album came out. Wonder how he could master the guitar as a teenager. It must have been a god given talent.

It's still hard for me to imagine a 20 year old conceptualizing, writing & capturing (recording) such an epic album!

I absolutely love your lessons especially the ones on Franks music! I have wondered for years why I could not find lessons on Franks music. Please keep them coming. Id love to see satisfy your soul, moonlight lady and tales of a Spanish warrior if you take requests?

Thanks! For years, I've wanted to sit down and figure his tunes out. Now that I'm retired, I have the time. Glad I can share it with other FMMR fans!

@@fenderbender8556 I am also retired and doing the same thing only I haven't posted anything on you tube. I figured out strange universe as best I could and came up with something very close to what you did. So it was very nice to get some validation. I had not figured out the riffs you added at the end so that was awesome. Did you ever learn Franks version of roadhouse blues? I love the riff he plays in between singing.
