Great overview. Just picked up a Dobyns Sierra 692 SF ... excited to give it a try for winter neds and tubes. Do lots of Kayak fishing, so the shorter lengths work better for me.

Let us know what you think! That’s not a rod I’m as familiar with!

Did you ever end up grabbing a swimbait rod?

I have a Sierra 734 and it's great for "All Around." My other Dobyn's rods are all Fury's for now and I have 2 FR-735's (used as frog and swimbait rods), one 735 for Cranks and 2 spinning rods (one medium and one medium fast). Thanks for your show!

Nice setups man. My lineup that I’m trying to get together is champion xps. 702sf, 2-703s, 2-734s, 705cb and 765 flip

I have the fury 703c and two weeks ago picked up the champion 733c, for finesse worms which I love. Was going to wait until Black Friday for next one but with the experimental cork offer this week, I ended up ordering a champion 734c. My dilemma is should I get a champion 735c next . I have a megabass levante perfect pitch, which seems to have the same specs as a 735 but might be a little stiffer, which might ended up serving me as a frog setup or a 5” swimbait rod for up to 1.5 ounces (6” magdraft). Need to decide if I want the 735 or another 733 or 734. I really don’t frog fish very often. Love all the Dobyns content and info 👍

hello, what are your thoughts on the xtasy 755 for punching and frogging?

Have you had a chance to use that 6104c you talked about? I know you said it has a ton of power but I was wondering what the tip is like. Is it soft enough for skipping? Sometimes the shorter heavy power rods have really firm tips.

That rod is made for skipping! It’s got a perfect tip for it. Excels around docks and close quarters.

What would you recommend for throwing 1.5 squarebills to wiggle warts or rattletraps? It's fine if it's two different rods. I'm looking in the Kaden and champion xp line Iine. I currently have the sam sobi line of dobyns and love them. Just want a few more

I think the champs are perfect!! Never had Ecstasy series .. but champs are top notch.. 734 is my shit! And 702 for drops and neds! A lot of rods are over priced .. Dobyns is just quality!!

Why is it glass rods aren't good to throw frogs with?

They are very parabolic, you need a fast tip and a heavy rod to properly drive home a good frog hookset. Glass rods are good for treble style baits or chatter baits.
