Great painting. The colors are so bright. The background makes the flower really stand out. Dana

The background painting with so much pigmented water is very cool to watch. I enjoyed watching the liquid flow as you tilted the paper. I love how the water flow is restricted to the wet areas of the paper and not the dry. This looks intimidating to me, especially in the tiny corners. But you make it happen beautifully and almost without care. Thank you for demonstrating. I wish I was a student of yours. Thank you for posting this video.

Is this an easy, normal or hard exercise?

This painting of Strelitzia "bird of paradise flower" is painted with Phthalo blue, Phthalo green, Ivory black, Quinacridone rose and Nickel dioxin yellow. It is made as an exercise for my students.

hi Raul I use unmixed quinacridone rose as pink and unmixed Nickel dioxin yellow for the orange. In watercolor it is possible to grade the colors with water. In acrylic, you must use white paint for this. You can use acrylic paint as watercolor ie. dilutes it in water, not using white paint. This requires that the surface is white.
