Hey Heath, always called this knot a cats paw knot but seems like both names are correct. Highly recommend wetting the knot with saliva and you won’t get any of the line distortion. This knot can produce a lot of heat when cinching down.

Hi Heath, That knot has a double strand in front of the knot and acts like a strong leader. That's pretty cool. I would normally tie a Palomar knot but it doesn't have the double line in front and less shock absorbency. Thanks for the info. Say "Hi" to the Crew. Take care and have fun, Mickey

Hi Mickey, This is the knot I usually teach people when they are learning to troll... either that, or a basic clinch knot. However, this is super strong and very reliable. Everyone says "Hi". We're all doing good down here. Hope all is well in Palm Bay. Take care. Talk to you soon.
