Steffan Pila This song harkens back to the "Man Of Miracles" album back in 1974. This song has a Rock Opera soundscape that is a rescindment of the song "Man Of Miracles." A Great Heavy Metal Song from the one and only STYX.

The song begins with the backmasked Latin words "Annuit Cœptis, Novus Ordo Seclorum" ("God has favored our undertakings; a new order for the ages")-part of the Great Seal which encircles the pyramid on the back of the American dollar bill. THAT IS NOT WHAT I REMEMBER i remember playing it backwards and the words "why dont we just go ..." then mumble. did this pre-date the PMRC?

In the music video, when Jonathan (Tommy Shaw) is doing his "guitar solo," that is actually J. Y. (role of Dr. Righteous) performing the solo, and not Tommy.

I always wanted this album when I was 10 but never had money to buy it. Stopped by a local record store the other day and found a nearly perfect original copy of it in a used bin. I realize my thoughts on Styx probably won't be the most popular but even though I always liked them, and was fanatical about Mr Roboto, I always thought they were a tad cheesy. Kilroy is probably the epitome of Styx's cheesiness but it just works on this record. The vast majority of the songs on this album are far catchier than they really have any right to be. It's a shame this album is so looked down upon because it's actually really cool in a sort of goofy way. Heavy Metal Poisoning is the best track I'd say. James Young's vocals are hilariously great on this one. They should have had him sing more as this Dr Righteous character. Fantastic. Also, the album looks like regular black vinyl but when you hold it up to light you notice it's actually clear purple. Neat packaging and artwork with it also. It's a shame I never did get it when I was 10 but if I had it would probably be torn up by now. This copy is practically brand new.

Alot of people didn't care for this album but, I loved it. I saw them twice for this tour. 1st night was at the Pantages Theater , 2nd night at the L.A. Forum. I won tickets to participate in the making of the MTV video to this song but, I was not able to attend because of work. So I gave my tickets to a friend and he said it was an all day event that ended up at Dodger Stadium parking lot later that evening. I loved this era of life and Rock n Roll! Paz y Amor

Apparently many prints for the music video set to this song lack the opening backmasked message ("murolces odro suvon sitpeoc tiunnA" - which, if read in the correct forward order is "Annuit coeptis novus ordo seclorum" or "God (He) has favored our undertakings").

The backward masking was sort of a hip shot at the preachers who were playing music backwards and making up accusations that satan was hiding behind every track.
@ssatterfield8854

The song begins with the backmasked Latin words "annuit cœptis, novus ordo seclorum".[1] Translated from the Latin, these words mean "He/God has favored our undertakings,[2] a new order of the ages".[3][4] These are the two mottoes on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States. If listened closely enough, just after the second refrain and instrumental break, another backmasked message can be heard, saying "Rock & roll is evil", mocking the purported dangers of backmasking. The backmaskings are thought to have been a response to claims of secret messages in previous songs by Evangelical Christian Tipper Gore, Al Gore's wife. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Metal_Poisoning

No one can keep it up forever, or past 24 hours with a full bottle of Viagra. In context, I enjoyed it. Also for me, Rush's Presto had only one song I liked (The Pass), and I didn't realize they made other lp's afterwards. I also didn't realize Meatloaf had many lp's between Bat Out of Hell and his comeback lp.
