In order of how the band as we knew them best came together, it was: Chuck Panozzo (bass) John Panozzo (drums) Dennis DeYoung (vocals, accordion, piano, organ, synthesizer) James "J. Y." Young (guitar, vocals, keyboards) Tommy Shaw (guitar, vocals, 12-string guitar, mandolin, keyboards) And, according to Tommy, he claimed the band didn't really get along even in their heyday, and I think 1983's _Kilroy was Here_ was the last straw for him!
@GeekBoy03
6 жыл бұрын
Well that seems to be incorrect, as the band is together, touring, and came out with a new album recently. The problem is creative differences. Dennis DeYoung wants to push the band to do Broadway style musicals, why the rest of the band wants to stay rock. That is why DeYoung is not in the band.
@cemeteryexploration

JY and Tommy think they created Styx. Could they tour "as the music of Styx" and survive? Come on, love him or not, DeYoung is, was and shall ever be the heart and soul of Styx. I would think JY would be the hardest of the members to be around-- a mediocre guitar player who took advantage of an opportunity to "move forward" as a touring act after their best days were behind them because for whatever reason he thinks he is an "equal" to Dennis. Pretentious douche mongrel-- I think you got the wrong member, Wizzle. That's JY.
