it's amazing how technologically advanced these cars are...i plan on buying one in spring. but the more technology, the more things to eventually stop working. the thing that bugs me the most is the hill descent control---if someone isn't competent enough to put the brakes on on their own, they shouldn't be behind the wheel of anything.

HDC lets the system brake specific wheels individually to optimize traction without going into a downhill slide. If you know someone who can brake individual wheels using the pedal, I would like to meet them.

I have a 2015 Forester with X-Mode, but one thing that I cannot understand. Why do you need a "button" to activate it? I mean, why isn't X-mode on all the time (or, at least while under 30 mph)?

+Icriedtoday It would suck. you get more wheel spin, worse throttle response, and it holds the gears longer, it also "locks" the center dif. This is not very useful in every daily driving.

I like how they are showing trip B with average 8.9 litres per 100 km haha

It actually says 8.9 km per liter, which is around 11.2 liters per 100 km.

oh yah I see that now, in my forester it shows Liters to 100km not KM per liter. Guess the Japanese model is different.
