💯 The mechanic seems like a good-hearted person. He may not have received the payment he should've received for this repair, but he will be blessed with abundance in the end. As for the driver of the Dodge Charger? His despicable action will come back on him. I mean....he's driving one of the most frequently stolen vehicles in any city. 😏😐

In many states you can only recover court costs in certain situations if granted by the Judge, given how intentional this was he's likely get that back too along with labor hours.

Small claims judgements don't work. Scammers know how to hide money and it is up to you to find it. Good luck with that! (Been there myself.) Oddly, the government doesn't help you find the money but yet will stop at nothing if they are owed taxes.

Not the fault of Allstate, 100% fault of the car owner. As for a small claims suit, good luck collecting and $ as even if you have a judgement, there are absolutely no means to enforce collection of the $. Judgements are only valid for 5 to 10 years and after that, if you don't go back to court and renew the judgement, it is cleared.

All state isn't at fault. I assume that they can prove that the customer cashed the cheque. There are different ways to file an insurance claim. One is to have the company pay you and then you can get the repairs (or not). The driver appears to have gone this route, but the mechanic found other problems which is why they paid him directly for those.

Basically, the insurance company pays what they think damage is worth after an estimate. They will cut a check under the clients name for that disclosed amount. Any other damage found not reported in the insurance company estimate report has to be reported by the repair shop after their estimate is given to the insurance company. They will then pay the repair shop the difference

I'm not defending Allstate, but the body shop's issue is with the owner of the car. I've seen this exact thing happen before. The car owner is a crook and the body man is ripped off. Many insurance companies issue initial checks in the owners name if the amount is low, but supplement checks in both names.

EXACTLY, he's blaming the wrong one. Insurance companies in this area stopped putting body shops on checks long ago, their obligation is to their customers, not the shop. Over the past 15 years, whenever i needed work done to my cars the check was only ever written to me.

What happened to me was i got in a car accident and the repair shop kept saying that theyre just waiting on “one more part” to complete the job. It wasnt after i got my car back about 2 months later that i found out that “one more part” was the paycheck that the insurance company was taking forever to send

That’s so sad. I know some might say, that’s stupid of him, but we weren’t there to experience the interactions and empathy that would have been elicited based on the state of things at the time. I got 40 thousand into car repairs for people that didn’t pay after telling me to fix it. Its been a few years for some and still they never paid the rest of the bills and police and leans on the cars do nothing too help. These kinds of people are why i ask money up front for at-least the cost of parts before i do anything

As fo the owner of the care, well he had bullet holes in his care you think you can trust him, not to mention he hung the phone on the reporter...has has no intention on paying for that repair. There's a certain kind of person out there that us car guys just refer to as "dodge charger owners". We just avoid them at all costs. They are a hassle and usually from single mother homes. Meaning they are emotional and can't contend with reason without random acts of violence. It's almost like Scott Adams is right. Feel bad for good people in that community.

Most insurance company do not cover massive shooting damage for the reason the car was used in all kinds of criminal activity and the people involved are probably involved in heavy-duty crime the insurance company puts on investigators they find out who's doing what and where and who they are they talked to the police officers involved hey talk to the neighbors they find out who is doing what with this car then they deny the claim and they normally don't ensure this type of damage they can't the cars are used for crime that's how it is and if you go to trade the car in most car dealers don't want them because that means a person trading the car and is going to have trouble coming into your dealership and he may not get shot when he's buying the new car but he might get shot when he comes back to pick up the car

Someone shot the car, but I don't think anyone was driving it at the time. It seems unlikely that a bullet went in one door and out the other and missed the driver.
