Sugar Cookies
Cream together-
1 lb. 4 sticks of butter
(room temp) unsalted butter
8 oz (room temp) cream cheese
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Then add in-
2 large eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Sift together in a separate bowl-
4 1/2 cups AP flour
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1 tsp salt
Optional: you can add nuts
Add flour mixture to butter mixer little at a time and place on to Saran Wrap forming into a rectangular shape. Or between two parchment papers rolled to 1/2 inch. Put dough in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut dough with cookie cutters and place on parchment paper or a silicon mat.
Bake for 10 minutes cooked to lightly golden on the bottom.
Remove and cool on cookie rack.
Add desired toppings or icing.
Royal Icing
1 bag of powdered sugar
4 egg whites
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Beat egg whites, adding little sugar at a time along with the lemon juice. Beat until nice and smooth. Pour half of the mixture in a bowl and add in a little bit of milk to make the icing easier to frost, dipping the cool cookies and letting it sit to harden. The other half divide and color icing and placed in pipping bags.
