Good presentation! Your animation shows the inverter AC output and Grid connect to distribution panel for powering the loads. The Grid should connects to your inverter, as your distribution panel doesn’t have intelligence to select if it power will be come from inverter/PV or Grid. Your Sun Synk Hybrid inverter should able to make decision on how to power the loads whether the power will come from PV, Grid, or Generator.

The question I get asked by most customers, who have had someone install a battery backup or solar system. "Why has my energy bill not reduced ?"
@BidvestRenewableSolutions
2 жыл бұрын
first, the client wont see a reduction on a back-up system as the power in the batteries come from the grid. There is only a few reasons why the client does not see a reduction in their energy bill on a solar system. 1 - The system was not sized correctly 2 - The system has not been configured correctly, in other words, the settings on the inverter is incorrect. 3 - The meter readings are not done and the client is charged an average rate.

ok, I'm getting this stuff, it's making a lot of sense. my question is, is there a limit to the GRID power throughput at all? Is this something I need to be worried about? For example, If I have an original Main Circuit breaker, that has a main circuit breaker of 250amp, and if I use an average of 40kwh a day, do I have to worry about the amount flowing through? Is it correct to say that the 3kw, 5kw, 12kw inverters are purely about the PV size? and not the amount on Grid AC that is moving through them? I guess I've given myself a mental block and fearful of buying a small inverter, when my house uses a lot of energy from the grid every day. I hope I'm asking this question correctly. FYI, I only have 3kw of solar, and I bought a 5kw inverter. I know it's not enough to power the house, I'm just augmenting it. I'm just concerned that the Inverter will have issue with the Grid throughput. or am i worrying about nothing?
@Allaboutmacpc
Жыл бұрын
I am unsure what you mean by amount flowing through? A 5 kW inverter can deliver 5 kW of power, i.e you can load it with 5 kW at any one time or it can produce 5 kW at any one time. 40 kWh is a measure of energy, not power. A 5 kWh inverter can easily deliver 40 kWh of energy throughout the day assuming you have enough solar to support that. In theory, assuming you can supply the inverter with energy for the whole day a 5 kW inverter can supply 5 kW * 24 Hours = 120 kWh of energy during the day. Hope this helps!
@michaelnuttall5896
10 ай бұрын
@@Allaboutmacpc I think he was meaning peak usage at any point in time. Hypothetically if you had a peak usage multiple times per day of over 5kW then no a 5kW inverter would not work, you could ammend with load relay switches from what I understand but Imagine your peak usage spiked to 12kW, how many load relay switches do you really want. Just get a 16 kW inverter and forget about it.
@colin109

I think you mean pass through current which is double 2x as per datasheet so a 8KW 1PH will allow 70A Pass through more than that inverter will trip.
@derickkruger5680
3 ай бұрын
That is exactly my concern and my understanding is that you are limited to the kw/h of the inverter i.e. if your essentials draw 10kwh, the 5kwh inverter wont work. Please let me know if im wrong. Now, lets jump to 3 phase inverters.... seems to be much more confusion around the pv input, batt charging etc etc.

Terrible advice here regarding the fossil fuel gas appliances. If we're going to be serious about mitigating the worst effects of climate change in the coming decade, we need to get rid of methane being pumped into our homes, not insist on more of it. Replace the resistance element electric stovetop with an induction one. Upgrade hot water heaters and HVAC units with electric heat pump technology. Drive and EV and dump the gasoline one.
