White Swans, glimmering Ice and the Magic of the Sunset colours, what more do you need. Perhaps some music accordingly? I made a synth sound with padsynth in Yoshimi (ZynAddSubFx) and composed a theme for the "Female" Swan, for the "Male" Swan, for the Ice and for the Sunset colours and played around with them a bit in Ardour (DAW). This video is what I ended up with. I think it's quite nice, dreamy and beautiful. Perhaps one of my best? Hope you enjoy! Spring is soon here. So if you are a nature or a bird photographer get you to a place where open water starts to form in the ice cover. There you will find the migrating birds and often also reflecting mirror water as the ice cover contain most of the waves. Add good light and you have magic!
Enjoy visuals and sound,

For the tech interested:
This video was shot with the Panasonic Lumix g80 (81/85) with a dummy adapted bigma (old Sigma 50-500mm). So everything is manual only. I really love this old lens. It's sharp enough and I just like it. Most of the softness in the video is from post production which I of course did in Kdenlive. In my opinion for video when you do everything manually you can tell the story you want. Of course this is way more difficult, but it is the way you make a difference, this is your craft: Your touch and feel! I still have a lot to better, but especially for video there is just something about it when you get it right. There are of course problems in this video also: I only have a ball head and it stucks everytime you start your pan. It's smooth though when you are panning at constant speed... Morten Hilmer had a great tip for using a ball head only:
• HOW TO TURN YOUR BALL ...
I've used "Morten Hilmers method" a while now, but it helps more for photos. I still need to get me a fluid head for smoother video movements as you see from the jerkyness... Perhaps the 2-3kg of weight hanging on the side of the ballhead accentuates the start stiffness? I do hope I've got a smooth fluid head next time when the ice starts to open...
