Volcano is meant to sample that mid 90s techno sound, not as a parody necessarily, plenty of their peers worked with dance music, but to paint the picture of the scenario, which is a naive starsighted person being sexually and creatively consumed by people already polluted by the industry she's entering. Essentially the sound of getting roofied by your talent agent in a club.

Awesome to see you react to this man! This is my favourite album of all time and I personally believe it's their crowning achievement. It feels as though everything in their discography before it was leading up to this. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to 'To Be Kind' wich I would also consider a masterpiece from them.

Gira had a truck full of floppy disks with recordings he had made or collected since he started Swans, and he built the album with them. Crazy album

You should also check out Gira's other band that he worked on after Soundtracks for the Blind leading up to the reunion of Swans with My Father Will Guide Me a Rope to the Sky. They were called Angels of Light, they're really good.

So glad you enjoyed this project! It's my favorite Swans album for sure, and one of my favorites of all time too. Though, not an easy one to listen to, that's for sure. There are few albums that sound *this* horrifying. As for Swans Are Dead, it's definitely worth listening to, maybe even as a video (but up to you). The highlights in my opinion are the new post-rock tracks in the first disc like Not Alone or Feel Happiness, and in particular the Jarboe-led version of I Crawled. Might be the best Jarboe vocal performance ever. Note: YRP is just short for Your Property; it's another version of that track off of Cop, with Jarboe singing instead of Michael.

Swans, man.. you’re in for a ride with all their albums. And there’s quite a lot of them. Good luck. Advise: don’t do acid while listening to them. If you get the chance to see them live: go! If you thought the albums were mindblowing… just go see them.

The Longing for backroom no clipping in concious with atmospheres, With nature and technologies from synthesis in flux within cathartsis, . Kind of like the wired in Serial Experiments Lain , With liminal space yearning into synthesis from layers of concious.
