Sweetcorn Dhokla
Another innovation to our regular Suji Dhokla with healthy sweet corn twist. It makes the Dhokla texture very different than any other Dhokla variant you may have tried.
Ingredients:
1 cup fine Semolina (Suji / Rava)
1/4 cup Gram Flour (Besan)
1/2 cup sour Curd (Dahi - alternatively buttermilk can be used)
Approx 1/2 cup Water
1 cup Sweetcorn
Finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
Finely grated small Ginger knob
Freshly chopped Coriander
Pinch of Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
Salt as per taste
1 spoon Oil
1 small packet of Fruit Salt (Eno)
Red Chilli Powder (to sprinkle on dhokla)
For Tadka:-
1-2 tbs Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
1 tsp White Sesame Seeds (Safed Til)
Pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
Method:
Take a mixing bowl, add 1 cup fine Suji
Add 1/4 cup Besan
Add 1/2 cup Khatta Dahi (alternatively buttermilk can be used)
Add approx 1/2 cup Water and mix it
Further in a chopper, coarsely crush 1 cup Sweetcorn
Add it to the bowl of suji mixture
Add finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
Add finely grated small Ginger knob
Add freshly chopped Coriander (optional)
Add a pinch of Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
Add Salt as per taste
Add 1 spoon Oil (for softness)
Give it a good mix
Keep the greased plate and the steamer ready
Add 1 small packet of Fruit Salt (Eno) & mix it
Quickly transfer the batter on a greased plate
Keep this plate in pre heated steamer
Cover with a lid & steam dhokla for 20 min on high heat
Prepare Tadka for Dhokla:-
Heat 1-2 tbs Oil in a pan
Add 1 tsp Rai, 1 tsp Safed Til & a pinch of Hing
Cut Dhokla into squares
Pour this tadka on cut dhokla
Add freshly chopped Coriander
Enjoy Scrumptious Sweetcorn Dhokla with Green Chutney
