In this swim analysis, I take a closer look at Moritz's stroke, which already shows impressive length and a solid stroke rate. We focus on refining a few key areas to enhance power production and overall efficiency in the water.
First, we address the power generation during the catch phase, where a straight arm is limiting the ability to pull effectively. I explain how a higher elbow position and a more engaged catch can reduce shoulder strain and increase propulsion. Additionally, we explore the push phase, emphasizing the need for a strong extension to set up a powerful glide into the next stroke.
We also touch on breathing mechanics, particularly the impact of right-side breathing on the left arm's low elbow position. Introducing more symmetry by incorporating left-side breathing can help balance the stroke.
Lastly, I highlight the crossover issue on the right arm entry, which causes the torso and hips to drift, affecting stroke alignment and kick balance.
Moritz has made great progress, and with these minor adjustments, we’re aiming to unlock even more potential. Keep up the excellent work, and let's swim stronger together!
