Great video. It answers some of the question I asked you on another video about sinking legs and body position. But some youtube videos say our feet need to come out of water to ensure we are in flat position,

Thank you! While you are learning it’s best to keep your feet underwater as I would t want you to pick up bad habits. So a little more effort now to ensure correct body position will pay off in the future. Breaking the water with your feet (unless you are sprinting) is only a waste of energy and can cause further problems with rotations in the body. Try and keep them under if you can 👍

I just came across your channel and I have watched all twelve of the beginner series. One question that I have is what does it mean to "kick from the hips?" I can understand how to kick from the knees but if the hips are my gluts, then I can not figure out how to kick using the gluts.

By kick from the hips I mean that you should not bend your knee to initiate the kick. It should start from your hips and engage your entire leg, keep your muscles loose and not tense and your legs stretched out with floppy ankles. Let me know if you need more explanation and I’ll make you a video 👍

@@AaquaticsUK Thanks for the response! I'll get to the pool tomorrow and try this. My kick has been the hardest thing for me to learn.

Today while I practiced with a kick board both leg kicks and arm rotation, I found out if I stretched my legs and kept it bit close and kick flexing my ankles a bit helped my legs stay close to surface. Is it true, if we stretch the legs a bit we can swim better specifically with slightly heavy legs. Please note my legs are quite dense with muscles (not big muscles) with less fat due to heavy squats, cycling, Jogging etc.

Yes stretch yourself out to increase the surface area and therefore the buoyancy! 👍
