Hey thanks, I've now used mine several time and I do like it a lot so far, I've had to replace the shorter belt already but only because when I bought the machine both belts showed some abuse and the short one failed only after me using the machine twice, but as I mention in one of the video its fairly easy to replace just by losing up the 2 bolts that also hold the engine to the frame. if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

I can not get those bolts to budge. I put WD-40 on it but still could not budge. What size or type of wrench works best? I thought it was 1/2" but it slips when I put pressure on it. Cut myself when it slipped. I could not get a socket on top of it. You would think they could of designed a better way to replace the belts since that is going to be a common replacement. I've only had the 60" tow behind for a season and half. The short belt burned up when a log got lodged between the frame and blade.

make sure you also grab the nut on the inside if you are trying to take the engine mount out, on the inside they have "non-slip" nut that grabs pretty good and if the mower is older they may be seized up. And yes I agree they should have build this machine with changing the belt in mind since its pretty much one of the only and main moving part that need periodic maintenance. I'm already thinking about doing a mod so that I can change my the main belt in less than 2 min. I got some good idea on it but I'll have to wait till I'm not so busy to do it and I'll for sure post some video about it :)

Thanks so much for the tutorial on the belt replacement. I'm upset Swisher does such a poor job with their manuals of explaining how to actually replace the belts!! 🤨 This really will help me. 👍 btw, great restoration of the machine. I have a '19 model and it's not that clean!!! 👏👏

Thanks. I only needed to loossen the bolt on the discharge side. That was enough to loosen the belt guide and put the new top belt on.

Nathan Anderson ,Hi thanks for the video ,after installing my belt ..the engine will not crank over and I cant evan spin it by hand ...seems like the belt is too tight,I bought it from amazon and they stated that the 44" long belt was the the correct belt for 60" mower townehind ,just feels way to tight and no way does the motor turn over anymore ..too tight...read some other compaints about theses belts breaking to quick because the belts are too small, have you heard anything about this? Im changing to a 47" one sears sells in hope that the 3 " will make the diffrence ,thanks ..Greg

I moved the safety switch forward to keep more tension on the belt or you put a shorter belt on .cost nothing to move switch.

Hi. I just bought a used T60 from a neighbor. It's 5 years old and has less than 5 hours use. They bought it and just after buying it, the husband got very ill. After that, they hired someone to cut. It's been sitting in their barn ever since. They did put some stabil in it but I anticipate replacing the carb, fuel filter and gas lines. I see it's a Briggs but never heard of the Power Built line. Any suggestions before I tear into this?

I'm not a mechanic by any means, so when I took mine apart to fix and make sure everything was working I had to learn a few things myself :) I'd say go for it that way you will get familiar with the machine and as for me so far I've had to replace the main smaller belt twice this season so I was glad I took this thing apart before cause "swisher" doesn't really give any tips on how to replace belts. Mine had been sitting for a couple years in the back of a shed and there was mice nest in there and a lot of other crap :) if you have any questions just let me know I'll be more than happy to help out in any way. You can email me at simpledesignscp@hotmail.com if you want.
