I'm not implying anything here, just want to clarify sth. Also, I dont even know if you are joking due to the lack of expression of text but it's my fault so here we go. Understanding the other side of argument, and others' reasons, thinking is pretty much critical thinking and logical sense. And to most research, most sociopaths and psychopath are superb at that. They dont even try, they just instictively know that, and take advantage of that. Empathise, otherwise is more or less about the emotion. It's like, they KNOW that they are guilty, they just dont FEEL any guilt. Or, they KNOW the others would be sad, but they dont FEEL that sadness. So yeah, thanks for listen to my boring TEDtalk.

@@nguyenhongngoc5350 i meant to say that cristine gives herself less credit than she deserves, now i dont know if the qualities i described fit into the definition of empathy (eng is not my first language) but i have noticed this quite often that whenever ben says a critical statement that might be offensive to some people, cristine always jumps in to clarify how some people may find it offensive. An example that i can think of is when in one of the episodes ben said something about people who are very religious but cristine explained to him how religion is something that is comforting to some people etc....IN SHORT i like these two very much and have much respect for cristine 😇

The super obvious questions that basically just ask: "are you a psychopath?" have a legitimate function: They can act as attention - and consistency checks. The idea is that everybody, except a very few psychopathic outliers, should answer negatively to those items. If someone seems to answer randomly, or carelessly, the answers to questions like this let researchers sort out or otherwise control for those participants!

Hey Ben and Cristine, In regards to the tempering chocolate, I recently managed to do it myself. I used a heat gun ( the paintstripper kind, on the lowest setting) and a thermometer. Chocolate needs to be heated to a specific range of temperatures, and when you're above it you'll need to add new chocolate to bring back the type of crystals you want for perfect chocolate. Dark chocolate needs 31C - 32C Milk chocolate needs 30C - 31C White chocolate needs 29C-30C I learned this through savour school's videos! Those videos honestly helped me more than anything ive ever found online.

I'm confused. Cristine made Ben dinner that one time and it turned out, well, cute. XD Can she actually cook well?? I need more cooking with Simply! I have to know!

I just want to say I love this podcast and the banter you two have. My office has been WFH since March and I love listening to your podcasts while I'm working because it's like the background noise I'm missing from the office

@@shivaanijk7501 it's actually the ☕ Hot Beverage emoji, according to emojipedia it can be called coffee, tea or hot chocolate I think it looks more like a cup of Tea than the actual Tea emoji 🍵

THE PUDDING-AIRLINE MILES thing was a big part of the movie called "Punch Drunk Love" with Adam Sandler. It actually wasn't a goofy comedy, and he surprisingly did a good job acting without using comedy as a focus.

Beyyyn! I always temper chocolate using the seed method and it works every time! Melt 2/3 the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir, 20 seconds, stir and then 10 seconds burst until there’s just a few lumps not melted. Add 1/3 tempered chocolate and keep stirring until it’s all smooth! It will take a bit of time but keep stirring! The chocolate will be super thick but when is all smooth, zap for a few seconds just to loosen then mould. I promise you it works! To test before moulding, smear a THIN coat on a piece of parchment. Freezing or cooling in the fridge will mess with the temper. Let it set at room temp!
