As cute as they are I don't think a humid place like Japan is good for Sand cats...they need to be in a dry place...from what I've heart it can cause some respiratory problems for these cats and they're very different from domestic cats

Thank you very much for your caring comment. As you pointed out they are different from already domesticated household cat derived from Felis lybica. Sand cats live in arid area and they don't even drink much water, as they are getting hydration from their prey. Since they originally live in dry area, we are extra careful during humid season in Japan to set dehumidifier in their enclosure to keep the atmosphere dry enough to prevent any respiratory problems.

Are you keeping them in a adapted environnement? Sand cat are prones to breathing infections if they are not in a very warm and dry environment.

Where were they purchased? Did you get them from an illegal pet trade? These are not supposed to be for sale. How do you feel about stealing animals from their natural habitats where they were perfectly happy? How can you pretend you love animals when you do this?

@@moshack actually you're right, not all Sand Cat are in illegal trade from Hunting, some Sand Cats are bred in Captivity. You can own a Sand Cat, but you need two things; 1.Have a license, 2.You have to learn what their habitat, diet, inclosure temperature; their inclosure must be dry or your Sand Cat will get sick. I didn't own one, i like these adorable wild Felines.

I wanna have it but when I realize that they will be extra cared in other environment especially in humid environment I was like "Awww meennn" "but you're sooo cute!" The reason why I was like this cuz I need to buy dehumidifier and something things that will make an artificial environment for them which cost alot idk I can handle it in Philippines especially I'm now in Baguio which a cold place full of pines and fog bc it located on the top of the mountain but I wanna have them Soo bad.😭

This is disgusting. Sand cats are beautiful, extremely rare wild animals on the endangered list in many areas of the world. They don’t belong in exotic animal stores or in cages. And most certainly they shouldn’t be bred or “tamed” to be pets.

Then why don't you go to their habitat and stop human from destroying it? Little you know they suffer even more in the wild ur logic is telling that human must hunt instead of going to a supermarket

This is a Sand Cat bred in Captivity, not Caught in Wild. But it doesn't mean they're fully Domestic. Plus it's not illegal unless if you hunt or destroying their habitat. To own a Sand Cat, you have to have a License and knowledge for taking care your Sand Cat.

@@rakantarafarm357 Thanks for your understanding. This is a beautiful species and I hope we can obtain more useful information through our husbandry. Our fortunate success in breeding made me believe that guiding animals accept us being around in captivity, if not to the extent of taming, is very important to lessen their stress in tense situation like breeding. After all animals are much more intelligent and flexible than we think.
