LTG Hal Moore was the best Infantry officer America has ever produced. May God bless him and grant him peace. Thank you, General.

RIP LT GEN MOORE! I WILL NEVER FORGET THE WORDS OF WISDOM YOU GAVE TO ME & THE HONOR I RECEIVED IN MY MIND JUST TO BE ABLE TO CALL MYSELF YOUR FRIEND! I HOPE YOU ARE UP THERE WITH MRS. MOORE & JUST AS YOU ALWAYS SAID "YOUR TROOPERS THAT FELL IN BATTLE OVER THE COURSE OF 2 WARS" IT WAS SUCH AN HONOR TO BE ABLE TO SAY "I KNEW THE MAN WHO WAS CALLING THE SHOTS AT LZ X-RAY AT THE BATTLE OF IA DRANG." YOUR MEMORY WILL FOREVER BE FORGED INTO THE PAGES OF TIME NOT JUST IN AMERICAN MILITARY HISTORY BUT IN MANY OTHER ASPECTS OF LIFE ITSELF! SO WITH THOSE WORDS SIR I LEAVE YOU WITH A VERY, VERY HEARTFELT THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID WHILE YOU WERE WALKING THE WORLD WITH US MORTALS DOWN HERE!

It was my greatest career honor to have presented this honorable and accomplished man on stage with SGM Basil Plumley in 2007 at Maxwell AFB. His lessons as an officer and gentleman are eternal, his humility is the likes of which every officer ought to emulate and their relationship is what all officers and senior enlisted ought to strive for. I was blessed by many hours with this great American Patriot and will forever be affected by the short time I got to spend with him.

I have attended more formal military funerals than I can remember. The "Missing Man" fly overs are especially difficult for me. I wish I could remember all the names.
