Thank you for making one of our traditional dish "Mehpok". We can cook mehpok with different kinds of vegetables(though we don't usually cook with fresh taro leaves but mostly the dried ones). But your Mehpok looks amazing and delicious. Thank you once again really appreciate it 😊

Can we make this with with chicken?
@ceceegwite1022
4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use any kind of meat you preferred as well as any veggies like mustard leaves, bean leaves, pumpkin leaves, etc. You just have to make sure you add cooking soda(traditionally we use Tangal which is a liquid made from charcoal ashes) and stir the curry till it becomes thick just like in this video.

Won't the taro leaves itch?
@EatYourKappa
3 жыл бұрын
Rainy season people normally don't cook them as they are itchy then, also stirring is the key. You should not stir the leaves, until they are fully cooked.

@@EatYourKappa That's what people say. By the way my Hajong maid taught me a taro leaf dish I'd like to share with you. Take taro leaves,tear them and put in a pot with chillies. Put kalchi and salt . Heat and put water. Boil till done. I found it quite good. Maybe some non veg items could be added to it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
