This is awesome that they are selling them pre-flashed! Usually I am adding sensors, etc so I still need to solder pins, but occasionally use them standalone. Yes I wouldn't expose them to the internet with port forwarding or dmz for sure. The comment comes from people blocking them and not knowing what they are doing then the device has no ntpserver, no dns and sometimes no dhcp. Then they blame the device and or software. @@digiblurDIY thanks for the clarification. Device groups seems nice. However using three smart switches with one light seems like it would cost more than one Shelly and three dumb switches. @@digiblurDIY I’ve had 4 way configurations that took me a long time to trace out the wires accurately. But in all cases I’ve been able to use a single Shelly with multiple switches. One trick I’ve used to make it work where it appeared to lack enough wires is to substitute a push button instead of a toggle. That saves one wire by using an intermittent hot instead of two traveller wires. That freed up wire then can be the return path needed to make it work.
