I am sure that you have taken scions from that tree and grafted them. Wish i lived closer, I am in Menifee zone 9b and I have both extremes to deal with.

My avocado tree is looking a lot worse than a week ago. The top inch of the stem is turning black and has brown lines going down a bit. The bottom quarter of the trunk has brown spots and some orange dots, Idk if they're borers. But the bottom of the pot is wet and for a while. I don't have school tomorrow, so I'll look for decomposed granite. I really hope that the decomposed granite will save the tree. I love my tree and I don't want it to die😭! I watched your amazing videos about DG!

I have a type that looks similar but peels easily and has a purple tint on the flesh that is a pigment produced by the peel. I got the budwood from the original century old tree the year before it was cut down for a second dwelling on the lot. It peels like a Guatemala type but I believe it’s actually a Mexican type that peels

What a great tree. I think the only way to save these trees is to make copies by grafting a few ( 10 to 20 ) and naming them like you have. Pity I'm not there to help you hehe. I've tried grafting a few times but without success. I have 8 bacon seedlings that I'm going to try to graft and hoping for better luck this time with new grafting tape.
