I have seen this before, but always forget how it's done. I will definitely add this to my busket list and even keep it on the top. I just love the looks of this when finished.

My pleasure Guillermija, I think there's still a place for the lock join too but it's nice to know as many techniques as possible and have a choice depending on circumstances or the look desired. :-)

2 questions please! :) First of all, is we tat FSBS do we have to reverse all/some steps accordingly or we don't have to change anything? Then, if this join is smoother than the regular up/down joins why don't we prefer/use it over the regular ones(is it because it's more tedious or for some other practical reason)? Thanks for your time and energy, As usual, I appreciate the work, effort and patience u put into and show towards us. Have a nice rest of ur day:)

I have to admit I've not tried this join from the backside so not sure how it would look or what I'd need to change. As for your other question, it definitely is more fiddly and slower to accomplish than normal joins... but I'm not 100% sure how to answer your question... I'd have to try it in more places to see what it looks like.

Question but not from this videos. The picot do we have to make it short or long and do we have to be the same ( picot joint and picot decorated).
@11Frivole
6 жыл бұрын
Hello, your question doesn't really have just one answer. It depends on what you are doing with your picots. Decorative ones can be any length you choose, they can be short, long, or graduated. I usually keep joining picots very short but again, in some circumstances, you may need longer joining picots. It depends on the pattern.

I like the design you have here, can you tell the pattern?🤗 thank you
@11Frivole

Hi Marcia, it's not a pattern really, it's just a series of "onion rings". If you like the look of those, you could search for tatting patterns with onion rings and I think you'll find some that you might like. :-)

Hi BoB, they are La Cossette shuttles (made by me!) :-) I've been selling them for many years in my Etsy shop (though not so much in the last two years) but I've started making some again occasionally (www.etsy.com/shop/lacossette). In fact I have a few to list this evening!
