im sure many have stated this before me. But while using the TaylorRC clutch shoe holder(plate), one must use thicker washers(so 4 in total). The stock washer are a tiny bit too thin even when you stack them. i'd call this solution 1 -thicker stacked washers 4x. solution 2 is completely removing the TaylorRC part and replacing it with stock, which is more work but in the long run keeps your drivetrain running smooth! Im glad you pointed this out for people who are interested in this TaylorRC part.

Well great video thanks for sharing this. I certainly appears that there is just o much meat on that clutch piece. I personally like the stock ones myself because that billet draws heat. I know its supposed to cool but Im willing to best that piece gets hotter that the stock , let alone the binding issues! RB innovations made something like this I called it a bad innovation hahaha! Glad you got it spinning free! That was a lot of work tearing that down!!

Yea, I wasn't too happy to have to tear it down a second time. I guess the design with the fins is supposed to act like a fan for the shoes. 🤷♂️

Looks like it needed a 3rd shim..a thin shim behind the clutch shoes. But I think you figured that much out yourself. God bless 🙏

Yes, it does but you don't want to be piling up shims to take up the space there. Too much torque. That's why Zenoah and CY only recommend and use 1 shim. I got an answer from Taylor and will have it in a new video soon.

Go to a machine shop and have the guys mill a few millimetres off the face so that you don't need shims and you will have some clearance from the face and the clutch shoe plates

You don’t want to use many shims on the clutch Mount because of the torque involved. I’m in contact with Taylor RC and will have a update video coming soon. Thanks for your comments.

Josh, I’ve been doing 1/5 scale for quite a few years. Near the end of the video I show not one but 2 shim washers are not enough.
