What a beautiful rendition. Faafetai lava. The Maori culture has always been beautiful in my eyes. This so emotionally beautiful. To hear the samoan language being honored in this way especial with the Maori culture and language magically woven in is such a beautiful display. Such an honor to watch this magic unfold before me! As a new Zealand born Samoan Tongan, Ever since I started primary school all the way to college and even still we were taught Maori Waiata, Haka, Basic Maori words And our very own Pepeha. And I realized that learning their language and culture was my way of paying respects to the tangata whenua and Maori ancestors that toiled these lands. And hearing this kapa haka group sing a tribute song from my beloved Samoa really put me to tears and really did make me proud to be a Samoan. All the pronunciation was on point. I've watched this more than I can remember over the last 3 years. The pronunciation and transition between both languages is flawless. The delivery and conviction in and of their message has me humbled as a Samoan. This is pure and beautiful, and not just from a cultural perspective. I was norn and raised in Samoa and moved here before I was 10 with my family. Over the years of living in Aotearoa, this is my favourite display of both cultures as one. On any stage. Ever. Thank you for this... 3 years on, and for as long as I have the means of watching it.
