Can't stop smiling throughout the lesson because your teaching is so enjoyable! Though I've memorized the Teeline alphabets for a few years now (from image search), I've been incorrectly using them as 1 on 1 alphabet replacement from long hand. So I was scratching my head on where the speed came from, now I know! So glad to find your channel! Eager to continue with the rest of the lessons! p.s. That final bit with your dog, it's like I'm being transported back in time to a classroom. So nostalgic!

Thank you SO MUCH for this!!!! I've been studying from a book and whilst it's been fine for learning the alphabet, I came to a standstill on actually joining the letters. It seems to jump from 'here's the alphabet' to 'write this paragraph' without explaining skeletonisation or what the letters stand for independently. I'm going to switch to using just your series now, it's the first time I've felt any kind of confidence that I can do this.

where has this women been all my life? I did pitman script a hundred years ago and still use bits of it but it never really stuck because i needed a teacher like this! I am dyslexic and a 'slow writer' hense needing shorthand to keep up - plus things stick in my head better when i handwrite notes as opposed to typing. 🙏🙏 About to start a uni course and feel more confident about this if i can learn some teeline. 🤩😍✍📜

I come from a nursing background, as you can imagine, many of the medical and nursing words are not as easy to transcribe to T-line, e.g. constipation, schizophrenia, incontinent etc. Is there any current list or resources in this field?
@letsloveteelinetogether2273

Nine that I am aware of. However in your position I would make a list of the most common ones you use and devise special or shortened outlines for them. For example “incontinent” could be “I” indicator before “CN” blend on the T-line.

Phenomenal teaching this was so easy to follow thank you so much! I started learning teeline over a decade a ago whilst I was at uni but my engineering course was way too time-consuming here I am back again and so blessed to have found you. I have a question regarding the worksheet. I got most of the answers correct except I’m about confused as with the words push, wish, show and shiny, I skeletonised as ps, ws, sw, sni but the answer sheet showed the answers as psh, wsh, shw, and shni. This goes against the rule on the sheet which states that “when SH come together, use the S only” hence my answers. Is there something I’m missing? Would appreciate your help with this THANKS SO MUCH! 🤗
@letsloveteelinetogether2273
Жыл бұрын
Thank you SO much. We are glad you found us also. Please spread the word. Regarding your answer you are correct. Words with SH together use the symbol that looks like a CAPITAL “S”. As you know the “s” symbol is just a small circle. So that is why the answer sheet shows the capital S. Thank you for pointing this out. I can understand the confusion.

You are annoyed with yourself so you won’t get it wrong again. Mistakes help us to learn. Well done you if you got the rest correct. ✅

This is a really useful video - thanks so much! Does anyone know where I can find the exercise handout which she mentions in the video (at 20.48 or thereabouts?). Many thanks!

Thank you for creating this series. Would this be a good system to take a 10 minute long dictation (without any breaks) at 100 wpm, verbatim? I have an exam in India that I need to prepare for in about 10 months.

Yes it is possible to take a 10-minute verbatim dictation in Teeline. It takes a lot of concentration. Good luck with your exam.

This video is absolutely amazing, I was curious to learn shorthand but I expected it to be boring and I hate long videos. But I watched the whole video in one sitting. It was captivating to my short attention span and I learnt so much. You’ve earned a subscriber just to support this channel due to the amazing way you can teach things. 😊

i absolutely loved your lesson. but i have a question for the answer sheet of sceletonising the words. the task was to leave only "s" when "sh" is in the word but on the answer sheet every "sh" is kept as is. is that a mistake or did i not catch something?

No it’s not a mistake, but I can understand your confusion and thank you for raising this. The small circle is “s” but the wavy line that looks like a longhand capital “S” is “sh”. It is that symbol that signifies “sh”.
