This is the one time where the "We have ____ at home" that our parents say is just as great as the original because the Teen Beach Movie is the Grease and West Side Story at home for the 2000s kids and I'm all for it. Also, the Teen Beach choreography looks way harder than High School Musical movies, I mean the girls are wearing HEELS! And Ross did Cruisin' for a Bruisin' with TOENAILS missing. He stepped on a filter the night before where he lost a few toenails and was in a lot of pain, yet he managed to not show ANY discomfort as he rocked the performance. The choreography just doesn't get enough credit.

"Are you serious? No, I'm Tanner!" His dad raised him right! My dad raised me right too, that's why I'm a leader who stands their ground against a big threat! Fun fact, the Teen Beach movies were filmed in PUERTO RICO! Most beach scenes took place in Fajardo on the east coast of the island, including the beach house of the Governor of Puerto Rico, while indoor scenes, such as McKenzie's bedroom, a restaurant, and a kitchen, were filmed inside an undisclosed warehouse in Bayamón. Mariella Pérez Serrano, who was executive director of the Puerto Rico Film Corporation at the time, said Disney had spent about eight million dollars to film the production in Puerto Rico when the film was titled Teen Beach Musical at the time.

She looked so so sad the entire movie and just wanted to stay with Mack, the remake was simply a new cage for her to live out her days. Curse this movie.

As someone who grew up in the 2000s, and just watched this for the first time at 20 years old, I LOVED IT! It was like the reversed Enchanted, instead of a cheesy classic Disney princess somehow ending up in the real world, it was two normal kids who ended up in a cheesy classic Disney movie. I loved everything about this movie, meanwhile my best friend Georgia did not like it until the end. She's not a Disney channel movie person, meanwhile I have such pure hatred for the princess movies like Sleeping Beauty and Little Mermaid, and my childhood was mostly the Demi-Selena Disney channel era. I loved the music in Teen Beach Movie, and i especially loved the characters. Brady was not only the first Disney love interest to have a personality, but he was the first Disney channel love interest to have one as well. He wasn't the "dumb hunk" type of character, he was the goofy and funny optimist played by the extremely talented Ross Lynch! Mac was also such a cool girl protagonist, and determined to surf and live her dream. I also like how she tried to make friends with the characters as well. Also, can we just appreciate the girl power between Mac and Lela? Lela's so underrated in general, she was determined to go after her dream as well, but also she had more of the innocent and ditsy personality. Like I said, I'm someone who hates the classic princess movies so I admire both Teen Beach Movie and Enchanted for making fun of the old ones, I love it when Disney's self aware. With that being said, Teen beach Movie is going to be one of the few Disney movies I'll want my kids to see. Nothing compares to Encanto, Luca, or Wall-E, but Teen beach Movie is extremely underrated.

But isn't a jukebox musical made with pop songs instead of songs made specifically for the musical? Straying from the jukebox principle, Enchanted's "How Does She Know" scene was similarly funny. But yeah, TGWDLM and Teen Beach Movie are pretty much this

The concept for Teen Beach Movie sounds like the basis for a horror story or an SCP, like there's this pocket dimention which sucks people in seemingly at random, forcing them to take roles as characters in popular movies. Makes me wonder how many of the characters were there originally and how many are just victims of this wicked cosmic construction. Also does this thing exist only for Teen Beach Movie or other movies as well? I mean, we haven't been shown any other instances of people who've been transported to any other dimention resembling another movie but this could just mean that nobody else has made it out. Feaky stuff.

3:02 Before I even realized I was gay, I liked rewriting the lyrics of that one song from the movie (I know what girls like, girls like boys like me) to instead be "I know what girls like girls like girls like me. I know what boys like boys like boys like me" just because I thought it sounded better that way.

Tanner being the dreamy n kinda fruity leading man (+being played by an at the time closeted actor) = the dreamy leading man in old hollywood movies very often being played by a closeted actor n the fruitiness bleeding into the character in a way only queer ppl would pick up on alá james dean (even tho he was actually kinda open abt being bi but u get the point)

Wait, so there's a Forks, Washington? Pair that with Orange, VT and Sandwich, NH, and we're on our way to a whole dinner table worth of American town and city names. If we include other places like Canada, we can also find Kitchener, Ontario.

Glad we all seem to be in agreement that the horrible implications and consequences of rewriting history so Lela can be a girlboss simply aren't worth it, way too terrifying/traumatizing lmao

I remember vaguely watching this on my TV as a kid and the only thing I remember is the ending dance scene where everyone's dancing and behind them the movie is playing on a screen (like the ones in drive in cinemas) and Tanner comes in literally carrying a sink and everyone's like "Oh Tanner!"

actually, the psicological horror reviw maybe was right, since teen beach movie 2 looks like something similar and how lila want to scape from it but she end not being able to beside that, i think the movie is indeed more deep than what is seem as first time, im almost sure that actually both worlds are both movies that represent the cliches on the teen beach movies from diferent times, you can see it in how unrealistic stereotipical is the second movie and how it feels like one of those generic school movies but in the background, also makes sense to why lila and tanner are able to modify it as first and how they start being modified at the second half of the movie, cause now they are experiencing the same effect cause they are not in th real world but in a movie, also it critize both movies cliches in a way, as example, mac comes from a modern movie, this means she is more "woke" and feminist, but then lila and the other girls show how they are doing what they want, while mac is in fact still in the chains of what others decide for her, ironic since she should be more free, and also in the second shows how lila's freedom was not real freedom as she tought since she was slave of the movie and the steriotypes of that time, there is some more examples but in anycase, im just probably over analizing the movie too, i just dont want to admit im fan of a generic beach movie...

sure, this movie(s) tells u that being in a musical and braking into song aganst their will is hard, but being not in a musical and braking into song while wishing u were, pretending that everyone is dancing and singing around u and that there is piano, drums and whatever in the backround even though it's just u. And know one knows or cares, is also hard too!!!
