Martinez and Varane coming back to the team just proved ETH was absolutely right about injuries hampering our performance all season. The team is transformed with them, especially Martinez. It was only after he was subbed off that Haaland started to get shots on goal. Another thing that The Butcher gives us that Evans and Maguire don't, he gets the pass from Onana while under pressure. Instead of passing it back to Onana or to a fullback, he just pirouettes and plays it forward. It completely bamboozles his markers and gets the ball forward quicker.
If for some wonders of science they make him stay fit he is undoubtly an amazing defender.

Ten Hag absolutely schooled Pep, he had no answers and lost his S#@t on the sidelines. Who does that to Pep? Ten Hag does! This is why I have been backing this manager, even through the crap we have seen over the last 2 seasons. Because I see the bigger picture. Any manager struggles at United until the structure is fixed. Imagine what Ten Hag can do with a proper structure? My opinion, he can take on Man City for the league in 3-5 seasons. Just like Arteta.

I am an old-timer who remembers Sir Alex's early days. The struggles and the media attacks echo what we see today, and the number of managers under pundit attack is endless. Yet the similarities are evident that if we stay with this manager, with proper football structure behind him, we could see something special in the near future. Sir Alex went with youth, Ten Hag is giving our youth a real chance. I like what I am seeing and hope Inios feels the same. What a game, what an effort. GGMU

Amrabat, may make a few wrong passes. But he never loses confidence and never stops trying. His engine is immense. When he plays, the tactical hole in Ten Hag's system disappears, because he can do the role Ten Hag needs in his system. His positioning on the pitch is excellent, he always drops into the holes vacated by players pushing forward. He always creates the +1 defensively. We are better at holding the ball when he plays and we concede very little when he is on the pitch. For £15m, it would be criminal not to sign him up. At worse, he is a good bench option for a trophy chasing team. He had a load of niggling injuries at the start of the season. Had no preseason, trained alone until deadline day. He has only just got sharp and fit at the end of the season and we looked like we can beat anyone. Arsenal, Newcastle, Brighton, Man City. Any coincidence?

He's an interesting player, I think solid back up is probably his level for a team aiming to be in the UCL. I wouldn't be against signing him for a low fee. Paul Scholes in 49 though. The FA cup final of 1984 was a much different thing than 2024.

Ten hag's first season he over achieved primarily because of the time we brought him in, and he had to stabilize the team and finish the season strong, so to achieve champions league qualification was a miracle. I always thought we were not ready for the champions league but the work he did was that fantastic. So during the rebuild he is delivering trophies, I say he stays. Another thing, the young players are definitely growing confidence under ten hag, so I think it would set back the progress of the younger players if he was let go now.

3 finals in 2 seasons, very nearly a 4th last season. Let the Boss see out his contract at least. He hasn’t ‘really’ been given the backing he deserves and the media have shown him a complete lack of respect!🤬🤬🤬🤬

@@pauldaniels921 exactly my sentiments. Holjund's positional play off the ball is improving at a fantastic rate, then there's composure personified that is mainoo, just watch how other teams might try to pounce on mainoo in particular because he has yet to sign a new contract and might be swayed if ten hag left now. I'm with you, the rest of the hierarchy needs to support the manager way more than they have done up to this point.

Spot on about the FA Cup. It’s history is just unrivalled. Really special tournament. Was a shame when United dropped out of it in 2000.

Watched all the fa cup matches leading to the final today. Dalot, Onana and Bruno were sensational leading to the final. Critical goals in key moments. Carried us this season.

I watch Bruno and he did a brilliant job as captain. He was organising his players and talking all the time. Ten Haag for me, give him the tools

Cheers and thanks for the season STE. Great year from you. I very much appreciate the entertainment and you insight and wit. Enjoy the summer. Sounds like a great lineup. REally looking forward to more from you and Ash. Reminds me a bit of the old days of Pizza Thursdays with you and Ben. And FFS bring Ben on the Heads Gone show at some point - I truly feel Heads Gone was born out of that show and your dynamic with Ben - its there with you and Ash. Cheers @StephenHowson

Positives of the season. 1.Kobbie - nuff said 2. FA Cup - felt so good after a terrible season 3. Garnacho - watch him fly next season - the playtime this season and FA CUP win will only improve him next year. 4. Johnny Evan’s - surprise signing and performances proved him to be a club legend was a happy story. 5. Dalot - name be a better Right back in the prem this season. Keep ETH, keep the boys fit, sign the right players next year should be a great season

I think there's potentially a lot more to come from Dalot; with so much retooling of the squad needed in other positions (than RB) it might not be possible in the short term, but I believe he could be developed into a top class, all round midfielder....he's already got most of the attributes required; he reads the game well, can thread a pass, he's got strength, stamina, acceleration, flat out speed, good feet, good ball retention, determination and a great attitude....he could/would be a massive upgrade on McTominay, who would become a squad player or be sold to help raise funds for the rebuild.

Great win. The only thing that really leaves a sour taste in the mouth is the though of Ineos sacking Ten Hag to hire Oles assistant. Incredible incompetence.

It was such a great win. Beating City with goals scored by academy graduates, no one gave Utd a chance and a tactical masterclass from Ten Hag. Plus Pep sulking in the post match interview.
