I bought the same yoke roughly the same time as you and absolutely love it. Your 2 reasons for getting it are spot on. I might have a 3rd but I’m a big kid and it has something to do with K.I.I.T!!!!

Any difference with AP/FSD behavior?

I can only think of one slight con. After I turn into a corner, I like to let the wheel slide through my hands, letting the car straighten itself out. I think that wouldn't feel right for me with a yoke. But wouldn't be a deal breaker for me probably. And since I don't have a yoke... This is all in theory. Call it an ignorant opinion. 😎 Having to miss the stalks would annoy me more i think.

I installed mine over the weekend and I love it. Mine is HANSSHOW, looks and feels like OEM. In fact, when I looked at the back of the center plate, theres a Tesla logo so the frame is OEM.

Just got mine installed. One thing I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere is the two stalks sit quite a bit higher than preferred with yoke installed. It requires sliding your hand up a bit to reach for the turn signal when holding the yoke in the “intended “ position. Not most ergonomic. I’d go as far as to say it’s the biggest downside for me.

I appreciate that you say it’s a matter of opinion. Having said that, the yoke with all the stalk functions built in is a very different animal. Keeping the stalks certainly makes the yoke more acceptable, though it’s still not my choice.

If you drive straight the yoke is barely ok, for anywhere else isn’t.

If you tried it you wouldn't go back to a regular steering wheel. My wife wants one for her MY when it comes. This month.

I spent a couple of weeks pretending I had a yoke. Only one issue: backing up a trailer. No problems doing anything else. I would gladly trade for the increased visibility of the binnacle, if I didn't intend to back trailers.

Owww, the wife who doesn't like change. So recognizable! Especially the "that should be illegal". :-D But mine finally, after 3 years, decided that electric cars were okay and now she's got a Fiat 500e. A very interesting little car, where Fiat totally looked at Tesla when building it. So if you keep pushing long enough, they'll budge.

If it didn’t come with the side holes how did you release the airbag? Asking in case I decide to do this. Thanks!

@@brandonlee93 I put it on just fine. Issue will be if I ever want to take it off again. I’ll have to drill them.

How can you say that it’s good that Tesla replaces things that break or worns down prematurely? It’s good as a costumer, but not good for the enviroment at all. I’ve seen Tesla replace so many things on their cars, that you won’t believe it. So i think thats a big problem that expectations from costumers obviously don’t match the quality of the car and at lot of wasted parts

Nothing lasts forever. Designs are constantly refined to improve on these things, but no product comes with zero percent defect rate. It's always been like this for over a century of manufacturing. I'm not sure how to pragmatically solve this sort of thing, unless we're suggesting million dollar parts qualified by NASA?
