I've been running a 8070 rebuild engine gets the job done however a lot of tinkering to keep it going AC , SHIFT cables orbital motor 2 times front tie rods and don't turn up injection pump 170hp is a lot for that 426 ci. Clutch cable and lots of fuel 10gal hr.

426 is capable of far over 170hp. You need an inline pump, and a person that knows Allis Chalmers and they run forever

It's a risk trying to use a 40yr old tractor for work no matter how well made, although some people do but they require a lot of maintainance and care, you must question yourself if your willing to do that, as they only breakdown when you want to use them. I have some older machines on my own farm, and do spend many rainy days maintaining them, some neighbours snigger at them, but my repayments are zero, so who's laughing now....

Allis for the most part are a stepping stone tractor, you buy them cheap, run them until you can step up to a newer, nicer tractor! I just passed up a 7040 maroon belly for $3500, probably should have bought it!
@younggunfarmer416

I heard that the maroon belly 7000 was the only one to stay away from.If i could find more 8000 tractors in ontario i would check them out.I will have to wait and see on the us $.If it gets closer to par it gives me a lot more options.

LVF & Northern Wisconsin Farming What an ignorant comment. Allis Chalmers made by far the best tractor on the market at the time. The problem is people like you buy them, won't spend a nickel on maintaining them run the shit out of them and than dump them.

@@younggunfarmer416 Nothing wrong with the maroon belly 7000. The Power Shift maroon belly tractors (not the Power Director ones) 7040 and 7060 had shift valve problems but by now most have been updated to the newer style valve. The 7000 was a better built 190XT or 200 with a 3 speed Power Shift that was just a Power Director with a third clutch added. Very reliable Power Shift but all Allis Power Shift and Power Director transmissions were IMO the best built in their time by a mile. The Maroon Belly 7000 had the older style dry brakes like a late 200 and a dry foot clutch like a 200 (Black Belly 7000 had the wet foot clutch). Many 7000 tractors put lots and lots of hours on before needing major work. That 7010 in your video looked like it was rode hard and put away wet but a 7010 is nearly bullet proof with just some normal care. The 7010 was so heavy that the tractor seems sluggish compared to a 7000. All the 7000 series had the quietest cab in the industry at the time and IMO these tractors should be taken care of and not used and abused and then tossed. That would be stupid.

Hey, I know this is an old video. Did you end up finding a larger tractor? I'm an allis guy, 7040,7045 and a 7050, I'm in ontario as well as you from what I gather in the comments.
