I'm 28, started running 2 years ago, and since i started i've gotten down from 28:45 to 19:52 in the 5k and from 8:10 to 5:44 in the mile 😄 Made all the progress by keeping up a consistent 50-60km weekly average for 18 months, and doing specific sessions most every week (intervals, treshold, progression, long run).

bro, can u recommend me how do i run 2 miles under 12:00 mins im 20 y.o. 165 cm is it even possible ? 💀💀💀 And how do you recover from day today running training?

I think that is definitely an achievable goal, it might just take time depending on how long you have been training. The basics of running is essentially slowly building up your weekly mileage, and then adding in at least one speed workout and a long run every week. In terms of recovery I try to eat a lot of protein and get enough sleep most nights. Thats one area I’m trying to get better at.

@@Negurasis Something else I'd add on to what Nathan suggested are strides. After you finish most of your runs, try and do 4-8 100m burst sprints at like 90% max speed. They should not be hard, and you should try and fully catch your breath before each one. The goal is not to tire yourself out, but simultaneously develop the leg speed and strength to run faster. Try and smoothly accelerate to relatively close to your top speed, and stay relaxed, and then maintain that speed for a few seconds before slowing down again. Strides can be rough on your knees and ankles if you aren't used to running fast, so if you start encountering tendonitis or something like that, reduce the frequency or volume until you can handle it.
