I experimented with the modifying of font size. You were a bit scathing about the size of the arrow at the end of the leader line but if you increase the font size the leader and arrow head/dot also increase making the pointer more meaningful and obvious. You don’t have to go mad with oversizing the font to get the idea; it’s useful in models with many components.

Floating Text!!!!!???? omg.... I've been needing that since forever but didn't know it was possible... If you were one of the Planetary Gods of SketchUp, you would be Jupiter! Thank you, _forever!!!!_

Hi Aaron an interesting one thanks. Not that I use floating text much because of it's appearance in LO. I do however use 3D text to annotate room spaces and functions whilst aligning with section cuts and appropriate floor tags. One problem I have editing 3D text?

Thanks Aaron, good stuff here. Now how about telling us more on the cursor. The red dot for instance. How did you do that?

This is another element that would seem to benefit from having the ability to define what happens to text by default when created. You mentioned ( 03:30 ) about how messy it would be to have multiple text callouts floating around in the model. But, if they were by default (user choice in Model Info -->> Text) placed on their own layer(tag) they could be easily toggled off and on. Same for guide lines.

have we done a square one focusing on just "model info". i know it comes up in many of these discussions but i don't remember seeing it singled out as the subject of a video. thanks, great presentation as always.

Would you consider doing a video on using screen text, leader text and dimensions to help users who don’t have access to layout make simple construction drawings? Off the top of my head you could create a scene with parallel projection and make copies of a model at 90 degrees to each other to represent plan, side and front elevation. You could add a title block with a watermark and choose a style with a white background.

Is there a Square One video on Intersect Faces? If not, i think it would be a topic of interest.

how could I make my sketch up more realistic, is there any app like vray or revit to use for my sketch up?

Another great video. Thank you Aaron! Every set of construction documents I've ever seen labels certain elements of the design, especially floor plans. Apparently, there's no way to put text on a face so, for example, your bedrooms and closet can't be labeled "BR1" "BR2" and "CLO" Since SketchUp seems to be able to do everything else you might run into, it's surprising that this one was missed. I'm assuming something in the database design prevents this kind of textual element from being accommodated. Otherwise, it would have been added a long time ago.

What you are asking about is completely possible, but something we would suggest doing in LayOut. SketchUp is the 3D modeling (Model Space) solution while LayOut represents the "Paper Space". Think about it like this... if it will exist in real space, you make it in SketchUp. If it will exist only on paper (like dimensions or callouts) then it is done in LayOut!

How to change the text at a later time? Or do I have to delete the old and create a new one?

Another video about pretty basic things about the text option in SketchUp. How come there's no explanation how I can relocate already placed arrow? I mean, when I want to point or tied to another location on the model.

How come I get different results depending upon where I attach the leader? Sometimes I get coordinates, other times I get labels.

That depends on if you are attaching to an object (group or component) or raw geometry (edge or face)
