You may try, but it'll be too "heavy", and probabily gonna break it. Why? Imagine that the relation of "force" and spins is something like this: Fin . Sin = Fout.Sout Sin = Spin in Sout = Spin out Now let's put some values. Imagine that you need 25N to make the input wheel spins 100 times per second. And the output is turning only 0,001 spin/s (1000 seconds to 1 complete spin) 25.100 = 0,001.Fout Fout = 2500000N So, what is happening? this 2500000N is the force you need to apply to turn the output wheel once. As a German, I now have to ask because of the meticulous precision: When is the calculated range of mechanical failure? Even if you only want to run it for 30 years, I would make the gears with zero tolerance from a solid metal alloy and recommend sump oil lubrication with low-viscosity oil. The range of failure for these plastic gears is a few weeks to a few months at most, depending on the material and tolerance.

I see a lot of people asking what would happen if you turned the slowest gear, so I wrote an explanation. The mechanical disadvantage of turning the slowest gear in a 1:googol gear ratio setup like that would make it virtually impossible to turn the slowest gear. Some part would break before it could turn even a little bit. Think of a bicycle with gears, the easier gears turn the wheel less and the harder gears make it turn more. If you were to successfully turn the gear fast enough without anything breaking the gears would surpass light speed (not that this is possible)

It won't exceed lightspeed the closer you get to lightspeed the slower you move through time, at lightspeed you are literally going infinitely fast from your perspective because lightspeed as described in special relativity is the ratio between translation through time and translation through space. Light itself experience all of reality at once, if you constantly accelerated towards another galaxy you could reach it within your lifetime but a million years would have passed on earth, also light would still move at the same rate relative to you because of the fact that time has slowed for you, light always moves at the same rate in a vacuum relative to the observer because like I said it's really going infinitely fast also going 99 percent the speed of light and every .9 .09. 009 have each the same relative speed from the observer, so you will continue increasing speed but for as close as you get you will only be another percent in a fractional logarithmic scale as in .9 is comparable to .09 increase from 99.9 to 99.99 and same for 99.999 each requires more and more relativistic speed in another words energy the closer you are to it, and there are infinite digits obviously so you will never reach 99.99999 repeating infinitely aka 100 and no matter how close you get light will always be moving at light speed faster than you, time and even space are just relative to other things so even our understanding of going 99.9999 percent the speed of light is just relative to our understanding of speed on earth and is ultimately meaningless in any objective or universal way. In fact me even saying some percent of the speed of light means nothing and is a poor model for how speed and light functions. But yeah point being, even though the last gear is slow, it doesn't require infinite energy to turn, just a relatively large amount, so it won't reach light speed but if it was indestructible rotating it once would be catastrophic for our planet.
@Nikotheleepic
10 ай бұрын
Also I worked on a theory that we possibly live in a gigantic universe black hole and the big bang was simply the matter that constitutes our universe falling into that black hole, it would explain universal acceleration of expansion because every direction is towards the singularity because of how warped space is in a black hole, the things closer to the singularity would go faster than the things farther away and accelerate away, the effect of this is everything grows farther apart, imagine a river that moves faster as you move down it, if you dropped 3 balls next to each other on it they would grow father and farther apart, same idea. But a possible saving grace is that maybe reality is so stretched from the singularity that the singularity itself is infinitely far. In the same way the closer you get to lightspeed the less of an impact you have even with constant acceleration, hypothetically the closer you are to the singularity, besides accelerating faster, you would be moving through less space per space because the space would be stretched more and more. Related to this I had an idea regarding our reality itself being hyperbolic on the macro scale which would make sense if we lived inside a blackhole, or would it be hypobolic?
