Flagship or Ultra Flagship? 6’4 235, size 12. I love charging hard on the steep, but also spend a fair amount time following my son when he hits the park. Would I be miserable on the Ultra when I am cruising? Would I want more out of the flagship when I am really pushing it? Thoughts?

Thanks - good review. Your review of the Ultra Flagship and the BSOD point to almost identical characteristics; do the boards feel *that* similar when you ride them? How would you differentiate them? I currently have the old carbon flagship (love it) but wore it down … looking to replace it.
@AngrySnowboarder

BSOD is more lively and has a more reactive pop, UF is a little more damp under foot and has a slightly delayed amount of pop. On Edge BSOD carves better but the UF grips better in variable conditions.

@@AngrySnowboarder I have gotten used to my current Carbon Flagship in a 164, even though technically it *may* be a little long for me? ( I am 190lbs, 5'10 and wear 10 size boots). I mostly do agressive / high-speed carving through groomers and mixed terrain. Do you recommend I drop down to the 161 or stick to what I got used to?

Have you had a chance to check out the new bataleon thunder bolt? I’m looking to get a new hard-charging all-mountain freestyle daily driver with lots of pop that I can add to the quiver. I’m considering the bataleon jam, thunder bolt, capita mega merc, k2 alchemist or manifest team, or something like this ultra flagship from Jones. I want to replace my delamming bataleon Goliath (which I love) with a new board with fancy tech that can thrive in steep, deep, trees, and even park. Your vids are super helpful for actually getting practical info on how boards ride, rather than regurgitated gimmicky marketing like other reviewers, and would love any suggestions.

I'm in the same boat as you. Walked out of the store with a Bataleon Jam last week but now I'm doubting whether to take it back and trade it for a Bataleon Thunder Bolt or maybe even a Jones Ultra Flagship.

Great review! I am riding on a 15 year old Burton 163W rocker board and I am looking to upgrade. I am 6'1, 225, size 11 boot. I live on the east coast(ice) but also get a trip or two out west most years. I like the trees, mostly on and off trail, no jumps or parks. Mostly chasing my kids. I was looking at this one, the mountain twin or an Arbor Whiskey.... Thoughts?

@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks, stable and forgiving is appreciated. Just want something that will handle the mixed conditions out here, especially at Snowshoe where most times it is ice. Been boarding for 20 years, but only recently moved from NM to the East coast where the majority of the time it is ice. I appreciate your reviews and have watched about a dozen of yours trying to decide on the upgrade to a camber board or stick with a rocker.

But worried that the 155 gremlin would be to short or soft for my size. I know they make 158 in gremlin but not sure if its necessary?
